As we begin the design process, we are not just asking how a home should look, but how it should perform. Every client is different, and we tailor our approach to support their specific needs, including how they want their home to function from a health standpoint.

From preventative measures behind the walls to thoughtful material selections, every decision is made with intention. It is a quieter layer of design, but one that has a lasting impact on how the home is experienced every day.

Movie night, the KPD way. Grab your snacks, claim your seat, and settle in. This home theater was designed for the kind of evenings that start with one episode and end somewhere around midnight, with no one quite ready to leave.

Custom recliners, a snack pantry integrated into the millwork, and Art Deco-inspired wallcovering turn the room into an experience of its own. Every detail was designed around how this family actually lives and gathers together. What is on your watch list this week?

This is how our clients actually live. They come in from a day on the mountain, from the golf course, from being outside, and the last thing they want is a space that feels untouchable. They want to sink in, put their feet up, and feel at ease.

That balance is everything to us. Spaces that are elevated, but never precious. Refined, but deeply comfortable. Livable luxury, in its truest form.

Texture is where a space begins to feel connected to its surroundings. Wood accents, stone, plaster, and woven materials are chosen to reflect the landscape beyond the windows, bringing the outside into the interiors in a thoughtful, intentional way.

The process starts long before the final photo, on-site, layout in hand, specifying every piece with intention.

We choose Verellen because beautiful furniture should also be clean furniture. Hardwood frames. Non-toxic, FDA-approved glues. Recycled steel coil springs. Cushions filled with ethically harvested down. Every upholstered piece crafted in North Carolina without a single VOC in the stain or finish.

A space that invites you to linger, where dinner lasts a little longer simply because it feels easy to stay. Clean lines, soft tones, and tailored details create a sense of structure, while layered textures and natural light keep the space approachable and comfortable.

Featured as one of Design's Most Influential Women, by Luxe Interiors + Design Magazine. There are so many in our industry whose footprints make the path stronger for those who follow. That is the "why" behind creating Four Stripes and the reason to keep showing up to the table for other women in this industry. Recognition is meaningful, but the work that earns it is rarely individual.

What gets called "livable luxury" in print is, in practice, a team of thirteen women coordinating with builders and architects from the earliest stages of a project, drawing every detail to scale, and making thousands of small decisions long before a home is ever photographed.

Thank you to Luxe Interiors + Design Magazine for the feature, to my team for the work behind it, and to the clients who trust us inside their homes!

Just a PSA for those of you who are looking for mold-prevention and Well Home options in shower areas. I recently installed an system in my primary shower and love what it does! It is powerful, and has the decibel levels to go along with it 💨 but it does the job I was hoping for! A great resource for those of you concerned about cleanliness and longevity in wet areas. Save for later.

There will always be changes in a custom home. The goal is not to eliminate them, but to be prepared for them. By having a significant portion of the design resolved before framing begins, we’re able to catch issues early, adapt quickly, and protect our clients’ investment every step of the way.

It is a more intentional way to build, and it makes all the difference in the final result.
