Braunschweig Pottery Functional and Decorative Handcrafted Ceramic Art created by Connie Braunschweig. We use food-safe, lead-free glazes on all of our pottery.

Our functional pieces are also microwave, oven, and dishwasher safe. Not for use on stovetops/burners.

📆Mark your calendars for our last show of the year: Nov. 13-15, we'll be at Callahan Promotions, Inc. Iowa's Largest Arts & Crafts Shows at the Varied Industries Building on the State Fairgrounds.

It's been 50 YEARS of Braunschweig Pottery! 🎉

What started in a repurposed chicken coop in Alta, Iowa - with Jerry, his dogs, and lot of creativity - turned into a beloved family business.

Connie joined Braunschweig Pottery full time after their kids arrived in the early 80s. Jerry was the one behind the wheel, and Connie made beautiful hand-built pieces and created carvings in the wheel thrown pottery. They’ve traveled the Midwest displaying their pottery at juried art fairs and craft shows. After their kids graduated, Jerry "retired" and returned to teaching high school art in 2003. At that time, Connie took the reins. She's been running the business since then with help from Jerry at the shows.

This marks their last year displaying at the Iowa State Fair. If you’re at the fair, be sure to stop by the Walnut Center, say hello, and help us congratulate Jerry and Connie on 50 years of Braunschweig Pottery! 🎉
