It is with great pleasure that I get to announce the end of the story for the co****le boards that were never paid for. I was able to contact the volunteer fire station that this person was through that had their logo made, it turns out this was a pretty bad dude that owed a lot of people a lot of money, and he did not have real intentions of paying me for these things. The station apologized for me, and they were able to find one of their volunteers came forward and bought the boards. They love the design and the logo and the time put into it, and they were unfortunate to hear that one of their members have done this to somebody.
In case you wonder why people may require a deposit down ahead of time before doing custom work, this is a classic example of it. I thought for a volunteer firefighter that they would have enough integrity to pay in full when they received them. It was unfortunate I had to drop them off before payment, then I got strung along for many months with nothing, just have to turn around and pick him up with no payment. But I'm glad that all the work did not go to waste.
On a small startup business, hundreds of dollars like that makes a huge difference, again this isn't Amazon or walmart, this is a small town guy sacrificing time to produce a product for pennies on the dollar for the love of it, for the Love of his country, and supporting small business like this helps dreams come true for his family.
Sorry for the long update, still cannot wait to get back into production, hoping to be back in production by the upcoming summer or fall, I have a lot of people in line for co****le boards especially, and as always, thank you for supporting your local small business!
