This project is based upon the Titan Beetle of the rainforest. Our version is assembled from cardboard parts, of the artist's choosing, which are painted with a variety of acrylic paints & markers, watercolors and paint sticks. Then we choose more body parts, think eyes etc, from a wide selection of new & recycled materials from our amazing Tinker Trays. The result is beautiful, no two are alike, and kids are genuinely engaged and excited to create these beetles.
This is a classic Gander Studio project and we'll be making these this fall in Art Club!

Fun fact: When this emaciated, starving little kitten showed up at our door, we decided if it was a male, its name would be Dali, (Salvador), female it would be Dolly (Parton). She’s turned out to be a great Dolly, though not as sweet or generous as the original.
