I have an announcement to share that is bittersweet, but also an amazing blessing.....
As of May 1st, I will be passing the torch to a new owner. Our new owner is a fabulous couple, Judy and Keith Aughey, who show strong family, customer and community values through their christian hearts, and ways of life. Stay tuned for exciting features of the new shop! It's going to be amazing.....and you're going to love it....I promise!!!!!!
There are so many who I want to recognize and thank for the success of The Vintage Shoppes of Amherst. The talented vendors who have given of their time and spirits to make thousands of customers happy. Your knowledge and dedication to this "Vintage Family" and the needs of our customers, is like no other. It truly can't be found in other shops....your hard work has been envied and complimented, by many! Please always wear that beautiful soul on your shoulders, and success will forever pave a path for you.
I want to thank our customers who have made us strong and assured continued growth. An example, you saw us through Covid....I'll never forget you asking us to continue to posting pictures so you could purchase by phone, and we should set your purchases outside the door for pickup. You promised us commitment, and continued to ask us to never leave, because you loved us.....Thank You.....because of you, we flourished. Your love and dedication was amazing!
I want to thank the community and local businesses for your support and always caring that we were included. I often said that The Town of Amherst is like "Mayberry"....it doesn't get any friendlier or more caring. We have the best relationships with the other businesses to build and strengthen each other, never competition, solid building.
To our landlord, who is way more than a landlord, thank you for eleven years of providing us with an amazing location for our hometown shop. For taking care of us like we were family. We hope the new shop will be here for many more to come.
To other half of the "Thelma & "Louise" team, Peggy Cunningham who started this venture with and left a while ago to chase her dream in the horse world...::Royal Delight Stables". Thank you Peggy Jean, our Vintage Dream turned out to be amazing!
I hope that our family at The Vintage Shoppes of Amherst has served you in a happy and satisfactory fashion through these eleven years. I hope we have dressed your homes, decorated your holidays, made your porches and yards pretty for the summers, but most of all, I hope we always brought a smile to your face and you feel loved and appreciated.
Thank you for the amazing friendships built, bonus families made, lessons taught, love shared, respect gained, and a million memories....never to be forgotten.
I hope there will be days when you think of me and a smile will warm your face.
