The Dirty Apron Junior and Life Skills Culinary Programs are 12-class, hands-on culinary education programs designed to give students practical kitchen skills they can use throughout their lives.

Over approximately 30 hours of instruction, students learn and repeatedly practice:
Kitchen and food safety
Knife skills
Recipe literacy
Measuring and weighing
Heat management
Cooking techniques
Baking
Protein preparation
Dough and fermentation
Flavor development
Meal planning
Meal prep and food storage
Time management
Mise en place and organization
Cleanup and kitchen responsibility
Problem solving
Increasing culinary independence

The curriculum is intentionally progressive. Skills introduced early in the semester are practiced and applied again in later classes.

The goal is not for students to memorize 12 recipes.
The goal is to give students a foundation they can use to confidently feed themselves—and eventually, others.

We are an approved ASD homeschool vendor if your school requires it.

The Dirty Apron’s Junior and Life-Skills Culinary Programs are 12-class, hands-on culinary education programs designed to give students practical kitchen skills they can use throughout their lives.

Some days you’re just trying to get everyone fed.

That’s exactly why we created Preppd.

Homemade meals, prepared from scratch in our kitchen, frozen at their freshest, and ready whenever you need them. Keep a few on hand for the nights when life gets busy—you’ll be glad you did.

Our favorites include:
