A bear with a honey habit and a pilot in a hurry. October 14 has range.

Winnie-the-Pooh’s first book arrived on this day in 1926. Chuck Yeager broke the sound barrier on this day in 1947. Twenty-one years apart, two approaches to adventure: break the sound barrier or stop for honey.

For today’s new Bees, I suggest a little of both: choose what you love, then move quickly. Scroll through to see a few of those that will arrive at 10:30 AM EST.

When you’re done, share this preview with someone you’d happily race to the Bees.

Good taste has arrived from Missouri.

Our Celebrity Guest Chef is Becky McKay, in from New Madrid, Missouri, and cooking up a savory batch of Chef’s Specials!

Give Becky a warm welcome, and share this with someone who appreciates good taste.

You can learn a lot about someone from the things they choose to keep and display.

Collecting is personal. So is arranging it all. The bees on this wall sit among needlework and other objects that matter to their owner. Together, they tell a story only this customer could tell.

Thank you for sending me a photo of your collection. Seeing where these pieces end up is one of my favorite parts of this work.

Have a Museum Bees collection at home? Send a photo by DM. We may share it here so everyone else can have a look, too.

Garrett made one piece that moved. Naturally, we’ve been seeing what else we can get away with ever since.

His original now has a place on the idea wall. It started this latest fascination with kinetic pieces: things that spin, swing, or simply give you an excuse to stop and play for a moment.

An old travel cup has joined the proceedings. So has a little DJ. Some are still in progress, and the question of “why?” remains open for discussion. “It makes me smile” is a respectable answer.

Have a look and tell me which one you’d like to see more of.

A little mystery is good. Clear photographs are better.

On this day in 1959, Luna 3 took the first photos of the Moon’s far side. The pictures were grainy, but people finally got to see what was there.

Today’s preview is considerably easier to make out. In 1959, it took a spacecraft carrying a camera and its own miniature photo lab. Today we can photograph the new Bees, share them with you, and check the weather on something that fits in my pocket. Occasionally, it’s even used to make a phone call…

Tell me which one you’re hoping to bring home. They’ll be on the website today at 10:30 AM Eastern. Have your favorite picked out before then and be ready to jump into action.

Omaha, you were good company. A few more shots from last weekend’s antique show. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to see the Bees and spend a little time with me.

Important reminder: About 80% of our new Bees sell within 20 minutes of going live on Wednesday morning. You all keep us on our toes.

For those who have asked yes, every Bee you’ve seen in the Sunday and Wednesday previews will be posted at 10:30 AM Eastern, along with around 300 new pieces. Sold Bees will stay visible until at least 11, so you can still see the full release. We do remove the sold pieces after that point.

Have your eye on one? Head to the website Wednesday mornings at 10:30 EST. They fly fast!
