I'm excited to announce that I'm taking entries for my new "AT-COST WOODWORKING PROJECT SWEEPSTAKES"! Yes, the title is rough but word smithing has never been my thing.

So what is this all about? I'm looking to build a portfolio for building high quality furniture and home projects. To do that without burning a hole in my pocket, I decided to provide the service at only material cost. No labor or delivery cost will be included in the price; just wood, screws (maybe?), and likely a lot of wood glue. So do you have a statement piece you've always been wanting in your home? Maybe a new kitchen table, or a bed, a coffee table, or entryway built-ins? Or maybe something crazy or completely unique? Let me help you with it!

In the upcoming days, you might notice some big changes to our social media accounts. Many of you might not know that Maker Integrations actually started as a Engineering design service, which still does provide that service and will continue to do so under that name. The woodworking services I’ve been doing over the last year started as a hobby. At the time it didn’t make sense to create a company just for that when I was unsure it was a viable business. This past year has blessed us with growth in both services to the point where it no longer makes sense to offer two very different services under the same company name. Which is why we’ve made the decision to split the woodworking side of the business into its own company under the name Bauer Custom Woodworks. This new company name will be taking over the social media accounts, which may take some time. However, we do already have the new website running with all of our usual products, as well as some new ones. When it rains, it pours! We launched our new product, Cedar Jack-O-Lanterns, which turned out to be very popular. Batching out these along with our usual house signs and catch all trays has made for a very busy past couple days.

We got the opportunity to try out one of the most difficult cribbage board designs we've tried so far. The customer provided their own piece of purple heart and we decided to try inlaying a piece of birch into the board to really show contrast in the design. It turned out to be one of the coolest pieces we've had the opportunity to work on and can't wait to try and one up ourselves on the next one!

June was hectic for us with 2 sets of friends, family, and moving into a new home (and a new shop!). But we're back at it starting July off strong making more custom woodworking products. Stay tuned for some new products to be available in the coming week!

Check out this custom "Bucky" the Badger Cribbage board we did for a customer! We tried out epoxy inlay again for this one to really show contrast with the design and are so happy with the results that it is now available on our website in 2, 3 or 4 track designs.

Another custom project was completed, a family tree with birthday and anniversary dates. This incorporated a few new methods I've been working on, epoxy resin and laser engraving!
