There is so much to be thankful for as Hobbs+Black Architects celebrated its 60th anniversary on Thursday. Reflecting on the legacy that Bill Hobbs and Richard Black began six decades ago and seeing our talented team carry that vision forward today fills us with the deepest gratitude. It was wonderful to gather with our friends, clients, and partners to celebrate this milestone together.

Cheers to 60 years of design, collaboration, and community, and here’s to the next 60.

As we mark 60 years of design excellence, we're honored to showcase Woodview Commons.

Woodview Commons is a vibrant 90-acre mixed-use development in Scio Township, thoughtfully designed by Hobbs+Black in collaboration with Soave Enterprises. The project includes a dynamic blend of residential options, including 266 stacked flats,100 townhomes, 90 ranch-style units, and at the heart of the community is a shared building that fosters connection.

This all-electric property offers modern amenities like electric car charging in every garage and at street parking, a heated pool with an expanded patio and perimeter seating, pickleball courts and shuffleboard table, a nature trail that wraps around the site, a dog walk and wash station, playground space, BBQ pit, and a sculpture centerpiece surrounded by fountains and seating areas.

Each stacked flat includes a flex room for remote work, 9-foot ceilings, private balconies, and carports with EV charging. The gym was custom-designed and features top-tier equipment. Among all the standout features, the landscaping is a true highlight, bringing beauty, serenity, and cohesion to the entire development.
