Ingredients:
1 pound of ground lamb (or beef)
1 onion, finely chopped
2 carrots, diced
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1 cup of peas
2 tablespoons of tomato paste
1 cup of beef or vegetable broth
2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons of olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
Mashed potatoes (enough to cover the filling)
Butter and milk for the mashed potatoes
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 400Β°F (200Β°C).
In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onions and carrots, and sautΓ© until softened.
Add minced garlic and ground lamb (or beef) to the skillet. Cook until the meat is browned.
Stir in tomato paste, peas, beef (or vegetable) broth, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10-15 minutes until the mixture thickens.
Transfer the meat mixture to a baking dish and spread it evenly.
Prepare mashed potatoes by boiling potatoes until tender, then mashing them with butter and milk until smooth.
Spread mashed potatoes over the meat mixture, creating an even layer.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the mashed potatoes are lightly golden.
