I'm bored in the shop today, so time to play with color and make up some possible palettes for future projects!

Both Maurice Brassard and Lunatic Fringe Yarns have such a wide variety of colors to play with and explore.

Krokbragd weaving and Tuna wool yarn!

Yesterday at the shop, I spent most of the day working on this krokbragd sampler piece. The inspiration to learn this weave structure came from a call from a friend who also wanted to learn. She came into the shop and we were learning together.

I have fallen in love with this weave structure!

Luckily, I just got a bunch of Tuna wool yarns in yesterday, so I wound some smaller balls from the hanks and went to town learning how to weave this wonderful structure.

I'll be spending most of today working on it again.

People have mentioned that Tuna yarns would be great for tapestry and krokbragd weaving, but they didn't want to buy a whole hank of each color. Smaller balls of these yarns will be available in shop and online soon!

Featured Friday!

Our Classes!!

We currently have fun classes posted for this summer and we'd like to feature them today.

* Little Weavers: Weavers a Potholder (May 30)
* Beginner Rigid Heddle (June 13)
* Weave a Wall Hanging (June 20)
* Tablet Weaving - Shoelaces (July 11 & 18)
* Beginner Inkle Loom (July 18 & 25)
* Needle Felting (Aug 1)

Here's more info on three of these classes:

First class is our Beginner Rigid Heddle. You will learn how to set up the loom, choose yarns and colors, weave, and how to finish your weaving. You will be weaving mug rugs in this class.

Second class is our Tablet Weaving class and you will be making your shoelaces! You will learn how to warp up your loom using tablets/cards, how to use the cards to make a pattern, and weave your shoelaces.

Third class just got posted today. It is our long awaited Needle Felting class. You will be learning about about tools, texture, and color while you make your wool "painting" of poppies.

Restocked our HoneyGold Acres braids this morning and got them all up on the website.

We have lots of new colorways as well new blends. (Hello Baby Camel and Tussah Silk! 😍)

When I visited the HoneyGold Acres booth at Shepherd's Harvest a couple weeks ago to pick out more fiber for my shop, I must have been in a purple and green mood, because many of the braids are those two colors! 😁

I'm starting to get pictures of some colorways on the website, so it's easier to order from the website and know what your getting.

How many of you have a project bag that you carry around with you?

What kinds of small projects do you take on-the-go?

Where do you go to work on your small projects?

I often carry a small projects like spindles/fiber, kumihimo, knitting, and sometimes even a small inkle loom with me. I tend to take it out whenever I have a little down time.

BUT....

I **LOVE** when I'm with others that are working on their small projects, too.

Many people have asked when FIBERology is going to have social crafting meet-ups.

Starting June 6th, I'd like to invite you to come to the shop, bring a project you're working on, and chat with other like-minded fiber artists.

The first Saturday of the month from 1pm to 4pm will be dedicated to time for everyone to come in and use our classroom space to work on projects and socialize.

I'll be adding events to this page so you can RSVP and give me an idea of who's coming. (You don't need to RSVP, however!)

We're starting to work on the next round of classes and looking for class proposals. Do you teach or know anyone who teaches fiber arts classes?

We started our class offerings with a lot of beginner classes, so we'd like to prioritize intermediate or advanced classes for classes in August, September, and October.

Classes we are looking for:

* color theory
* weaving design
* table loom classes (workshop participants would need their own looms)
* drop spindle class
* advanced spinning techniques
* tapestry weaving
* inkle loom pick up techniques
* nalbinding
* and more!
