Many if you know that for the past year and a half I (Rachel Wollangk) have been spearheading Iris Fine Yarns social media. I have had a wonderful time hosting KALs and getting to know so many of you. I have been inspired by your work and repeatedly encouraged by your words. Since I am expecting our first son any day now, I will be turning over the reigns of our social media to the rest of the amazing Iris staff. They will be able to take excellent care of you up to the closing of the shop just as if you were there in person.

Thank you to the Post Crescent for their coverage. We have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support here on our page as well as from those of you who have stopped in. Each of us has such powerful memories of our time working at Iris and the huge place it holds in our hearts. 💓

Yarn store will close at the end of October on West Wisconsin Avenue.

As part of our "Closing Sale" we are going through all the bins and bins of samples that have inspired us and you over the years. These pieces will be for sale in the shop until they are all gone. Check out a few examples below and stop in to visit and see even more. These pieces have all been knit by staff, community sample knitters, and a few came directly from yarn companies. These pieces are beautiful, don't miss out!!

Customers and Friends of Iris,

I hope that you are enjoying the wonderful Holiday weekend. I am writing here today to let you know about an important decision that I have made regarding Iris' future.

Approximately 2 weeks ago I received a call from the owner of our property, expressing his need to sell the building. After much conversation and soul searching I have decided that as of October 31st I will be closing the store.

This was a difficult decision to make, as the last 13 years have been a wonderful adventure. I have truely valued the friendships that have been made and the time spent with you all.

Thank you all for your support and patronage over the years. More specifics will be shared here and across our social media as well as through our email newsletter list.

Come spend your evening at IRIS Fine Yarns for the kick off of Hope Vickman's next workshop where she will be working through the pattern by Churchmouse Yarns & Teas Those that want to participate are encouraged to attend this first workshop date and then return for any subsequent Wednesday evenings they would like, throughout the project.
