Well folks here it is, the new dates for my class! I hated to have to postpone it last month but figured that the offseason would work better for most that were wanting to attend anyway! Just like the first class I will be covering everything on the flyer in depth and you will get to see exactly how I do things each weekend! Our 2 week BBQ Competition adventure ended at the 2026 Royal Oak Charcoal Invitational! This year they teamed up with Mossy Oak and put on one heck of a competition for us! One of the biggest reasons we worked so hard to join TRO was because of all that we heard about this weekend and we wanted to be a part of it! It didn’t disappoint and we hope we are lucky enough to be able to go back next year! Their campus headquarters were really beautiful and their hospitality for all us cooks was amazing, there was things to do for the whole family and anything we needed they made sure we got it! We met a lot of people that we don’t ever get the chance to meet which was awesome and felt like our bbq family doubled in size! Big thanks to Craig and the whole team at Royal Oak our family had a great time! As for the competition we had a good cook and they liked a couple of our turn ins!

What an amazing time with family and friends this past weekend at the Jack! It truly was an unforgettable experience and hope to get another opportunity to go back some day! Big thanks to our friends Weston, Holly, Brian and Autumn who came to help and support us we couldn’t have done it without yall! On a side note if you really want to test yourself and your spouse to the max put a 1 year old and a 4 year old in the trailer during a rain storm while trying to cook the biggest competition of your life lol

As for the competition we slightly missed our marks on a couple meats but two of them were spot on but in the end we landed 26th overall!

As far as the jackpot categories we were fortunate enough to bring home not one but two 180s! Jordan landed 11th in dessert super proud of her and all the hard work she put in to make that dessert taste and look amazing! As for me whipped up some sauce hit it with some seasonings from our sponsors a little smoke and of course some Jack Daniels Tennessee Wh***ey that got us 4th place, a walk to the stage, and a Jack Barrel Head!

Got a chance to run down south again to this place called Springtown Texas to do what we love and burn up some meat in a field! This was my first time cooking the Wild West Fest and we will definitely put it on the schedule again! Great event sanctioned by Champions Barbecue Alliance and thank you to Brenda Waters for running a smooth judging area!

We got all our adversity out of the way Friday when I realized I forgot the keys to my trailer after making it all the way down to the competition, this would have been real bad if it were any further than the hour and a half from home, luckily I was about to get Mrs.Okie Folks to meet me half way with them so it wasn’t too bad. Glad we got all the bad luck out of the way and kept the good for the cook on Saturday!

Last weekend I made the not so short trip down to Lubbock, TX for the Raider Red Meats BBQ and Ribeye Championship! This was my first KCBS in about a year so was hoping I remembered how to cook! Had a great time hanging with friends, got to see some that I don’t get to see often and made some new ones! Had some good looking boxes and some decent results in the end!

Chicken-10th Place
Ribs- 13th Place
Pork- 11th Place
Brisket- 30th ( I knew it wasn’t up to par, and it hurt me)
15th place Overall
