We are going to start trying to highlight, especially for our friends coming from out of town, some of the great food and drink options in our town and area.

With the crisp air of fall finally here, the girls felt like getting a treat before we opened up so we went to Steamy Joe Cafe Ark City.

The girls got their coffees and if you're like me and not a coffee person (tea drinker) their Chi is fantastic.

We didn't eat there, but the food looked very good and smelled wonderful (they have breakfast and a lunch menu as well) we did get a few sweet treats to take home that we are looking forward to having after dinner.

So friends if you're looking for a place to eat or get your caffeine fix be sure to check them out.

Our 10 fun things this week were selected by the one and only Paisley Howerton of Ark City Greenhouses.

If you've not had a chance to visit their store in person you really must, because it is so much more than just greenhouse plants.

They do amazing floral arrangements for every occasion and their themed flowers are not to be missed. They also have a great selection of soup mixes, coffee cups and other things that make great gifts.

So friends, we encourage you to go meet Paisley and all the other wonderful folks out there that make the good vibes and charm of the place palpable.

In the meantime, here are her picks with pricing and comments in the details.

This Studio Sunday, Ms. Mel despite having a busy week doing our outdoor holiday decor and finishing the Cowley County Ornament, found time to create these as well.

Some of these are a new technique she's exploring, taking scrap watercolor paper (remember her video about when is trash trash?) and using the colors to build a landscape collage.

There pretty in these pictures but beautiful in person (my personal favorite has iridescent water colors used to make the tree leaves pop) we invite you to come see them for yourself!

When you sell things that are older than you, that have been loved and looked after by others, you feel a sense of duty to those objects. You hope that they find a new home that will love them the same way.

We were so happy to see these fine ladies leave our shop to go join the crew out at Ark City Greenhouses. They already look right at home out there and we know they will be well loved and looked after. .

Our 10 fun things this week were selected by Teressa Hatfield von Buseck who is the leader of an amazing group of people that keep the magic alive at the Burford Theatre Arts.

The Burford is a massive credit to our community. At one point the structure seemed like it was destined to be lost, but people rallied and it was saved, becoming a community hub.

They host so many wonderful events, concerts and learning opportunities, with so many fun things planned for this holiday season. From comedy to showcasing local talent you never know what will be on stage.

While she is the first to give credit, to her board and all those that volunteer we would be remiss if we didn't mention Teressa.

To put it simply, she's a blessing. Her faith is profound and she's lifted us many times. Have an idea or suggestion? She's going to see if she can't find a way to make it a reality. She's an encourager and believes to her core that good things are ahead of us and our community.

So friends if you've not had a chance to go to the Burford or meet Teressa we would encourage you to change that immediately.

As always details are in the pictures below. Happy Friday!
