As I was drawing mugs for towns across Northern Illinois, I wanted Arlington Heights to have one of its own. CoCo & Blu seemed like a wonderful local shop to approach, and I knew they had worked with Conscious Cup, another coffee partner I enjoyed collaborating with.

Michael Brown was excited about the idea. I drew the places and pieces of history that make Arlington Heights recognizable, then worked with Michael to add touches from CoCo & Blu, including its logo. It has been so encouraging to see the community respond to the mug and to watch it continue to sell at the café.

I am thankful for Michael and the CoCo & Blu team and for the chance to celebrate Arlington Heights with them. Our work together later continued with a Mount Prospect Mug for their new Coco & Maple location.

Which detail on the mug brings back a memory for you? 💛

When we set out to create The Arlington Heights Mug our aspiration was to make the BEST quality mug with ALL your favourite features for everyday use!

-A mug FULLY WRAPPED with artwork of the area, Ashley Ann’s detailed hand drawings of iconic Arlington Heights images fully engulf all angles, to bring your morning cup of coffee to the next level. This isn’t your average logo mug.

-We went BIG, selecting a 15oz oversized mug.

-A mug with style and function, we landed on the latte style mug both for design aesthetic and functionality, it’s great for coffee, soup or late night ice cream!

-We chose quality product. This mug is solid, not only for durability to hold up well in the dishwasher and microwave but also because it insulates better keeping your coffee warmer.

-We thought through the experience, we wanted a curved lip on the top to give the smoothest drinking experience.

All of this came at a higher production cost but we knew it would be worth it, we wanted to put out the best possible mug we could. It’s not your average mug and is priced at $24.

We hope you love The Arlington Heights Mug as much as we do! It’s sure to be a family favorite!
