This weekend, we gathered in Sacramento for the 2026 California Firefighters Memorial to honor California’s fallen heroes.

Among those honored was Kings County Fire Captain Mark Eads, whose name will forever stand as a reminder of his service, dedication, and sacrifice. As part of the memorial ceremony, Mark’s wife, Robyn Eads, was presented with a flag in recognition of his service and sacrifice.

This weekend, Kings County Firefighters honored our fallen brother, Captain Mark Eads, at the IAFF Fallen Fire Fighters Memorial in Colorado Springs, Colorado, while supporting his wife, Robyn Eads, as his name and service were remembered.

It was an honor to stand alongside Robyn during the memorial and be there for the presentation of the flag honoring Captain Eads. Mark was one of our own, and being there to support his family and honor his service meant a great deal to all of us.

Captain Eads’ service, sacrifice, and legacy will always be a part of Kings County Firefighters.

We will never forget our fallen brother.

Today, we remember.

On September 11, 2001, 343 FDNY firefighters made the ultimate sacrifice while answering the call to help others. We honor their courage, their service, and the countless lives lost that day.

Twenty-five years later, we continue to remember those who never came home, the families who carry their loss, and the first responders who ran toward danger when others were trying to escape.

Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Never Forget.

Kings County Firefighters are currently deployed to the Akawa Butte Fire in Oregon as part of a multi-agency Task Force alongside Bakersfield City Fire, Clovis City Fire, and Orange Cove Fire.

The fire has grown to more than 19,000 acres and is currently 3% contained. We wish our firefighters and all personnel assigned to the incident a safe assignment as they work to protect lives, property, and natural resources.

As you celebrate, please make safety a priority:
