This is one of the hardest messages I’ve ever had to write.

As many of you know, our building was devastated by the tornado on March 14. After further review, the damage was determined to be a total loss. Because of that, and after deep consideration, I’ve made the decision not to rebuild, and Fireside – Arnold Stove & Fireplace Center will be permanently closed as of August 12th.

While the storm was the breaking point, it wasn’t the only factor. Like many independent businesses, we’ve also been navigating significant changes in the hearth industry from evolving buying trends and online competition to broader economic challenges affecting both customers and small retailers. When I looked at everything together, the rebuild costs, the market landscape, and the emotional toll of starting over I realized it was time to close this chapter.

This decision wasn’t made lightly. For almost four decades, this business has been more than just a job. It’s been a part of the community, and my identity. And what made it meaningful was you the customers who walked through our doors, trusted us in your homes, and supported us through the years.

After August 12th, we will continue doing everything we can to fulfill open orders and complete any ongoing installations.

This business may be coming to an end, but the relationships and memories built here will stay with me forever. Thank you, truly, for being part of this journey.

Closure Due to Tornado Damage

We are heartbroken to share that due to the recent tornado, our building sustained significant damage, and we must temporarily close our showroom for the next 6-12 months while we work to rebuild. This is not the message we ever wanted to send, but this tragedy has forced to to pause operations for the time being.

While our doors may be closed, our commitment to you remains. If you are an existing customer we will still be able to start or finish your project. We will still be doing service and chimney inspections. We are set up to still take on new jobs; if you have an existing estimate please reach out to us to plan your next steps in getting started. Please do not hesitate to reach out. We will do our best to help however we can during this difficult time.

We are still available to take your email or call to complete a sale. Our warehouse is still stocked and we can meet you in our lot for anything you are needing to pick-up (even if it is for a bag of charcoal or your favorite sauce or rub).

We deeply appreciate your support, patience, and understanding as we navigate this challenge. We look forward to the day we can welcome you back into our showroom.
