This beautiful bar cart is all finished & got picked up today to become a beautiful floral stand for . It looks lovely, is strong enough to hold the flowers, light enough to easily move around with wheels that have brakes to be set out somewhere + is painted in exterior white paint so it can even withstand the weather. It has a moveable shelf to hold whatever needs to be inside & would look perfect at any backyard party!

I’m not taking on anymore clients, but I did have this project promised to a local florist friend so I’ve been working on this rolling bar cart that’s going to hold her amazing flower arrangements for a party this weekend. It’s just a 2x4 frame screwed into each other with 3/4in sanded plywood on the outside that I’ll be sanding, adding moulding boxes to + painting tomorrow. I added 4 wheels right into the 2x4 frame on the bottom so she can roll it around the yard & I’m using all exterior materials so the clients can leave it outside after their party if they want 💐

I’m putting a little hold on my own bar for now to work on something new I’ll show you soon, but I was able to add this cute little arched stand to our movie room to hold the popcorn machine that used to be on the old bar. I was trying to figure out what colors would look best & then I settled on matching the Salisbury Cinema sign I made on the opposite wall so it’s a Deep Clay Red top with black legs I originally made for our kitchen island. I just cut the edges off a piece of wood I had, painted them both & then attached the top to a 2x4 support screwed into studs and the legs with the nailgun. I wanted it to be somewhat floating so we could still fit our foot massager underneath without a bunch of legs in the way. It looks so cute from the outside of the room because it matches the movie posters well + the arch mimics the new bar top too 🎥🍿

I was gone earlier this week, but have been making some slow progress on our smaller bar/reading nook room. First I added a nautical style fabric to the back of the bar to make it lighter instead of wood since we’re leaving it open. Then I decided to paint it all my favorite moody green on the inside (Valspar Belmont Green), but ran out of paint for all the annoying parts in between the real wood shiplap, so that will be done soon. I hung up all the shelves that look great together because I did paint in between those spaces already & I love the look of the two small bar shelves with one long “library” shelf I’ve been collecting fun things to put on. I still need to finish painting, add some fun wood trim around + some furniture in here soon though so keep following along!

This is not a crazy transformation at all, but it makes a difference to really making this space feel complete. Something felt off about the top of this tv wall for a while after I did it & then I saw someone debating about keeping their picture moulding white against the wall to look more Parisian style and I couldn’t unsee it. I did giant moulding boxes on a wall in someone’s house that we kept white a while ago + I absolutely loved it then, I just didn’t think of it when I did this wall. So I had to see what the moulding looked like painted white to match the white battens on the bottom wall & it looks absolutely perfect now. Sometimes those tiny touches you only think of after staring at a project for a while make it even better than you originally pictured 🤍

We had some friends over for Memorial Day & being able to use and appreciate all our outdoor spaces is just the best. It’s been a lot of years of different designs to get to now because we’ve learned, grown & upgraded a lot over the years. It’s always so fun looking back at all the ways my favorite spaces have changed. I even just added to our new patio bench because I noticed the pillows were falling through the back, so I added some pieces of painted shiplap you don’t even see with the pillows on so they cant fall through. Continually growing, changing + adapting to make things just how we need them is my favorite 🌿

He still has all the new fish to add to his tanks, but we finally finished my son’s tree stand set up this weekend so he can get all the fish after school’s out soon 🐟 I’m so impressed with him using his own money + research to figure out all the ecosystems, but I’m also happy with how this stand came out! He had a specific aesthetic idea (2nd to last photo is his AI rendering for his idea on the left) & we made it come to life almost exactly. Since I just wrapped the bottom “tree stumps” made from 1x3’s, there’s still plenty of space inside them for all the million plugs & extra supplies he needs so he can still keep his room looking clean. We utilized the corner space well without taking away too much space in his room + I even love the view of his room coming down the hall 🌱

I have a bunch of cute things I’ve been finding + fixing up in my own house lately to list on fb marketplace tomorrow. This sturdy ladder bookshelf & adorable side table are some of them that I just painted (in Vogue green & Rustic Earth) and added my favorite paper to. The top is sealed and both are ready to add a cute, custom look to any home here in Denver {each are $30}!
