Replenish Refills is Asbury Park's newest refillery and grocery store, providing low-waste, reusable, and refillable essentials all designed to make sustainability the easy, obvious, and fun choice.

I’m finally ready to share that Replenish Refills is getting a new home! 👀 And I don’t want to sound all woo woo, but this space really did find us.

We weren’t looking to move, but sometimes the universe nudges you in the right direction. First, a landlord who wanted a refill shop in Avon. Then, a block full of neighbors who create amazing synergy: Bulk Herbs, Herbal Products, Classes, Seed to Sprout, and the new Tea house + elixir bar + herbal education center in NJ. And then a friend (Gepp Fixed, LLC) offered to help with the build-out. I couldn’t say no to the chance to make something so special.

That means we’ll be saying goodbye to our Asbury Park shop when our lease is up in January. It will always be my first store, and I’m so grateful to everyone who refilled, restocked, and cheered us on there.

The new space will let us do more refills, more zero-waste swaps, and more community. As you can see, there’s a lot of work to do, and we’ll keep you posted on every step. Until then, keep refilling with us in Asbury! 💚

Asbury Fresh summer season flew by! It was a tough goodbye since the nor’eastern canceled our last market, but I’m SO grateful I got to spend this season with the incredible market managers and vendors.

If youre already missing your local favorites (🙋‍♀️) this PSA is for you. We’re stocked up on 24 Karrot Spread, auhoney, and Asbury Park Sea Salt and our storefront is around the block from where the market was setup. Come check out our food selection and pick up your local favorites this week! 🍯🥕🌊

Last week was climateweeknyc, a week-long platform for climate leaders, communities, and events. We didn’t make it to any events this year, but we followed along and heard the vibes were high. Conversations covered food waste, wind and solar investment, ocean health, and AI. (Anyone else see the student protestors calling out AI companies over their environmental impact? 🙋‍♀️)

The NAT GALA also returned for its second year, raising funds for nature initiatives with partners like Conservation International, Blue Marine Foundation, and Open Planet.

Watching it all got us thinking about what it means for our refill shop. Refill models are one of the real solutions that already exist, and we’re keeping at it: fighting food waste, supporting ocean health, and cutting plastic at the source. Bring a jar this week and be part of it. 💚

A few announcements for this week:

- Monday we’ll be closing at 3pm so we can attend the 5th Annual Team O’Brien Golf Outing in support of rare cancer research which is drastically underfunded. My cousin Brennan battled adrenocortic cancer in 2015 and lost his life 8 months after his diagnosis at 30 years old. This event directly supports those on the front lines fighting rare cancers to promote better patient outcomes.

- Wednesday we’ll be closed so we can attend the NJIT Green annual sustainability fair. Come shop, chat about internship opportunities for students, and win prizes. We are so honored to be involved!

I put together this basket to be a part of the annual fundraiser as a raffle prize. All donations directly benefit the Adrenal Neoplasia program within the Rogel Cancer Center steered by Dr. Gary Hammer, who my cousin believed deeply in. The goal is to advance rare cancer research and improve patient outcomes. More info can be found here: teamobrien.org

If you’re attending a fundraiser for a cause you care about and want to donate a raffle/auction basket, I’ll happily build one for you. Just tell me how much you want to spend and we’ll build a basket for your budget. 🧡

We will also be closed Wednesday so we can attend the annual Sustainabiliy Fair at NJIT. We were invited to attend by their Office of Sustainability after we crossed paths at CRAN Jam hosted by CRAN.

We love any event where we can chat about sustainability and we’re excited to meet the next generation of people thinking hard about it too. If you’re an NJIT student, come find us at our table. We’d love to chat!

It’s really not that hard. Me pleased:🫙

There’s something very *pleasing* about filling a few pantry staples here in the shop rather than at the chain grocery store. When I shop here, I know I’m avoiding toxic chemicals, excess packaging, and overconsumption.

What’s more pleasing than that?

Your empty boxes are about to become art. 🎨 We’re teaming up with local artist Assembli | Art + Design by Nicki Lee on a community collage piece, and we need YOUR help to make it happen!

Bring in the cardboard/paper packaging from anything you’ve purchased in-store (like a Dip bar!) and get 10% off your purchase . Nicki’s turning it all into a cut-up, found-object piece that’ll live right here in the shop.

This runs until we’ve got enough material. Drop it at the register to redeem your deal. 🧡

Caution: These new travel mugs from helaina may cause extreme happiness. ⚠️⚠️

6 new handmade ceramic travel mugs have landed in the shop! I’d been looking for a local artist to make these for a while now. When I met Helaina in Ocean Grove at Art on the Porch selling her pottery, I immediately asked (begged) her to work on some for me. And I’m absolutely obsessed with how they turned out!

Because lasting happiness should come from coffee in a cup you’ll actually keep!
