I’m a day late, but a virus and all the events of the past week have me playing catch up today. Motherhood reminds me so much of tending a garden. My own peonies are in this image.
Flowers do not bloom overnight. They require patience, nurturing, protection, and unwavering love through every season — the storms, the droughts, and the sunshine alike. Raising children is very the same. I have 3.
There are trials and tribulations along the way. Moments of exhaustion, lots of worry, much sacrifice, and lots of learning—no handbook. Yet through it all comes the indescribable joy of watching our children grow into who they were divinely created to be — each one unique, beautiful, and full of purpose. This week oldest will earn his law degree and next week my second son will head to the West coast—joy and worry.
Like flowers reaching toward the light, our children blossom with care, guidance, and unconditional love. And what a blessing it is to witness their growth, knowing they are precious gifts entrusted to us by the Divine. Moms, bonus Moms, grand-moms, aunts—you have my respect for loving the children in your lives and helping to shape them 🌸
