While it’s still Monday, we’d like to introduce you all to two of our favorite makers, Jim & Jess of Reeds in the Valley 🤗
.
.
Jim & Jessica Reed are husband & wife, parents, OG members of Artisans of Loudoun, avid football fans, & co-owners of a candle making company called Reeds in the Valley. Oh, and Jim is also a veteran and he wrote a book. J Denison Reed
.
.
From Jim & Jess:
“Our company started in 2014. When we became a family in 2012, we didn't have much money but we did love candles and it was Jim's idea to try and make them. 💕 We gave them as gifts and when friends and family asked for more, we thought we could make a business out of it to help support our family. We're known for our Signature Blends, colorful products and our wooden wicks. We have over 60 fragrances and have started to do layered candles. Our most popular fragrances are Wooded Glen, Sugar Plum Fairy, and Santa's Reindeer.”
.
.
Support your fellow makers by following them on Facebook and IG where they post their pop up schedule, new products, and process videos. 😍

Truth. Relationships and connections are the “secret” to customer retention and making sales especially when you an artist, maker, or small business. Your relationships keeps your customers choosing you and your product over those big box stores. 💯
.
.
.
The pandemic has definitely made it more difficult to sell in- person so we’ve all had to get creative to connect with our customers. 😷
.
.
.
As an artist, maker, or small business owner, what have you done to maintain and foster connections with your clients during COVID restrictions? What are your biggest challenges? Share and learn from your community. ❤️
.
.
.
Are you a small business or artisan who has found a successful pivot during these times? Interested in sharing and supporting other artisans? We’d love to have you as a part of our upcoming Zoom discussion panel. Message for details. 🤗
