They moved to their present location at 2404 N. Fayetteville St. in 1956. Hardin’s incorporated in 1970 after son Tal joined the business upon graduation from Appalachian State University. Tal’s wife, Gay, took over the bookkeeping duties in 1974 and continues in that position today. Their son, Brian, was the third generation to join the business in 1995 and is the company’s vice-president. Joe Ha

For 59 years Hardin's Furniture has been privileged to serve the people of Randolph County. For 52 years you have come to us at our current location on N. Fayetteville Street. Our founders, Joe and Virginia Hardin, were committed to sell quality furniture and bedding at affordable prices. We have been blessed with dedicated customers who have continued to call on us for their household furnishings and bedding needs. Joe used to say, "You can't do business on a one-time basis - you have to depend on your customers coming back and giving you good recommendations. If you don't have people doing that you might as well close your doors." You have continued to come back for the past 59 years.
