Big weekend for Momentum Woodcraft.
Set up the CNC spindle with Pierce helping throughout the build. Spent time learning the CAD/CAM workflow, testing cuts, and finally seeing the Momentum logo come to life in a V-carve for the first time. A few small projects, a lot of learning, and a solid first step forward. Keeping the momentum.

Introducing The Roost.

A parametric birdhouse designed to blur the line between functional outdoor shelter and sculptural décor.
CNC-cut, refined by hand, and built to bring movement and rhythm into modern outdoor spaces.

This prototype was built in walnut plywood, but future versions will use marine-grade materials and premium finishes for long-term outdoor durability.

This will be my largest coming in at 20” tall x 11” wide x 10” deep. I’ll offer 2 additional sizes proportionally smaller.

Curious:
Would you expect something like this to live in the:
• $200–$300 range
• $300+ range

Also — natural wood, painted finishes, or hardwood editions?

What do you think?!
Final pass-sand, clean, finish. First parametric bench complete. Built by hand to learn the form.Flow Series is underway. More pieces coming. CNC later this year. This is just the beginning.

Chamfering edges and dialing in the first full mock-up. This is where the piece really starts to take shape. Before anything gets permanent, I dry fit everything—checking alignment, proportions, and feel. It’s a small step that saves big mistakes later. Most people rush past this part.
This is where the quality actually comes from. Next: fill, sand, and finish.

“Shut the front door!!!”…my friend Megan said it perfectly. Scored this Heritage Henredon coffee table with integrated lazy Susan! Leather around the leg braces was chewed by a dog but the wood is in tact. Seller wanted to make space for some storage. This one is going in the apartment until it can be worked on. It’s perfection as it sits now, can’t wait to refinish it!

The walnut wall cabinet is coming along great. Milled to dimension. Now the fun begins with finger joinery, a milled in handle and hinges. Can’t wait to apply some finish. Baby steps and patience. STAY TUNED.

Decided against using the chemicals and put some good old elbow grease into the side table. Was so rewarding to not only reduce exposure but take my time and scrape the finish off. Really pleased so far. I wiped with mineral spirits to see where there may be some need for patching, and any other imperfections before sanding. I’ll sand and then wipe with mineral spirits again to check the surface. Stay tuned.
