It's hard to believe that we are celebrating our eighth anniversary. . Each year we hold a bag sale to celebrate and this year is no exception. Selected yarn is marked at half price but you must buy the entire bag. In addition this year we have put all our in-stock books and patterns at 20 to 25 per cent off.

Just got word that the Koigu magazine is not ready yet and we won't have it at Stitches South. please call the shop at 828-274-4213 and give us your phone number or email and we will notify you as soon as we have it. We can't wait to get it because We have seen a preview and it is great.

It's finally here! We received a shipment of Madelinetosh vintage and pashmina yarns today. The colors are spectacular--tart, earl gray, terrarium, magenta to name a few. We won't be able to get more for three to four months!

Yarns on Stage have been released! Ten different sock yarns, dyed by some excellent hand dyers in one-of-a-kind colors. They are all currenly available at the shop, along with special patterns made just for the yarns, including socks and a shawl!

We have just received 8 colors of a gorgeous new Noro yarn "Kogarashi", a wonderful blend of 51% silk/49% wool. A quick knit at 3 sts/inch on a 10.5 needle, there is also a new pattern booklet by Jenny Watson that has 3 designs made with this yarn.

Everyone had a great time at our annual Knitter's Retreat that was held at the High Hampton Inn this year in Cashiers, NC. There was a lot of beautiful French Scarves (from Claudia's Handpainted Yarns) and fun was had by all. The Knitting Bingo in particular was a hoot! Check back with us soon, and we'll be sharing the info on next year's retreat!

One of our new Trendsetter yarns, Othello, is a lovely blend of alpaca, wool, polyamide, cotton and acrylic! It has a great boucle texture and knits up fast on a size 10 needle. Eunice is making a fun short rowed scarf with it in the shop.
