Things I learned
:
1- don't be afraid of relief cuts
2- spring for the nice expensive glue
3- Mandy will probably always be more limber than I
4- try to convince the next womb chair client to go for the boucle. (Although this wool did pretty damn good)
5- a good b**r from ART BOP B**R CO is honestly the best way to celebrate these findings (and give the hands a rest).

One of the first big projects I ever did as an upholsterer was for myself. The fabric was a beautiful purple, but not necessarily good for upholstery (and the cats LOOOOVED it. A lot. With their claws)
So I decided to redo it. Again. This time with vinyl on the outside to discourage the cat, and a more durable inside fabric. The original was done like a slipcover (all the pieces were sewn together and then pulled on and stapled at the bottom). I decided to challenge myself and try converting it into something more traditional. The result is much tighter and cleaner.

Next up is this lil guy. His bottom was saggy, his spring ties were shot, and the arms were broken.. So I got him some new webbing and a retie. Arms spent a few days in clamps and were reinforced. Will post the final soon.

It's been so busy around here y'all! I've barely been keeping up, but I promised myself I would be a good lil upholsterer and post a project. This sweet little pair was in desperate need of new cushioning. And while red plaid was kinda fun, I think this bamboo print from Barrow really updated things.
