Just listed this little desk on eBay. The desk is from the Guthrie Center Iowa High School. A student wrote on the bottom of one of the drawers in 1941. So neat to find a little bit of history hidden in an old piece!

Recently added to our booth at Platte Valley Antique Mall. This Mid Century Atomic Bullet Style Floor Lamp is restored in a black and brass finish. It has a three way switch and the double bullet style lamps are adjustable. Stop in the mall and see this awesome find!

Now that the flood waters are receding in areas around us, many people are beginning the task of clean up. If you are trying to save a piece of wood furniture after the flood be sure to clean all the muck off as soon as possible then store it in a dry place to bring down the swelling of the wood fibers. The photos below are of a Sideboard said to have come from the Nebraska Governors Mansion. The Sideboard went through the Platte River Flood in the 1990's. You can see the water line on the before picture. The Sideboard was brought to us for restoration, however the piece was so swollen the drawers would not open even after drying for three weeks. The flood waters were very destructive, but with a lot of TLC we were able to bring this marvelous piece back to life again.

Depression Era Parlor Table Restoration

Restoration of an antique Robbins Table. These tables have self storing leaves. One side of the table skirt drops down and the leaves slide inside for storage. What a great idea. This table and chairs turned out wonderful in a deep expresso finish.
