✨ DRESSED AROUND THE WORLD | PART 2 ✨
You saw how we made it… now for the big reveal.
For this year’s IIDA Georgia DRESSED, our team took a little trip to Japan — transforming wallcovering, fabric, trim and tile into a one-of-a-kind runway look. And we’re thrilled to share that we came home as 1st Runner-Up!
Inspired by Japan’s deep connection to the sea and the Rising Sun, with Ryūjin, the legendary Dragon King of the tides, at the heart of our story, our design explored the balance between the beauty and power of the ocean through flowing waves, shimmering textures and structured forms.

✨ DRESSED AROUND THE WORLD | PART 1 ✨

Before the runway came the work. ✂️🧵🇯🇵

For this year’s IIDA Georgia DRESSED, our team took on the challenge of creating a one-of-a-kind wearable design inspired by Japan — using materials traditionally found in interiors.

What followed was a whole lot of creativity, problem-solving, cutting, building, tweaking and figuring it out as we went. 😂 From the first ideas to the final fittings, this team poured so much time, energy and imagination into bringing the vision to life.

A huge shoutout to the people who made it happen: Erik Khoa Nguyen, our lovely model, Genesses, Danielle Moss , Heather Rice and Jenny

Every detail was dreamed up, designed, tested and built by this crew, and we couldn’t be prouder of the creativity and craftsmanship they brought to the challenge.

There’s just something special about working in your own backyard. ✨

Our team recently presented a model room design for an exciting project right here in Atlanta, and we couldn’t be more excited to bring a little bit of Sims Patrick Studio magic to our hometown.

While we can’t spill all the details just yet, we’re always grateful for opportunities to help shape the spaces where people gather, stay, and make memories—especially when it’s close to home. Atlanta, you’ve got a special place in our hearts.

Our team recently had the opportunity to visit Shaw’s manufacturing facility in Cartersville, GA for an incredible behind-the-scenes look at the craftsmanship and innovation that goes into custom hospitality carpet.

Seeing the process firsthand gave us an even greater appreciation for the expertise and attention to detail behind every product.

What began as a summer internship quickly turned into so much more. Throughout her time with us, Isabella has impressed our team with her creativity, thoughtfulness, and enthusiasm for design. Welcome to The Mecklen. Bold, rebellious, and unmistakably Charlotte.

Rooted in the rebellious history of Mecklenburg County, the design blends modern hospitality with layered storytelling—warm metals, reclaimed wood, tactile materials, and thoughtful details that give the space real personality.

The spirit of Meck, the rebel’s dog, shows up throughout the hotel, adding a sense of play, independence, and approachability. The result is a space designed to feel welcoming, expressive, and easy to settle into—whether guests are passing through or staying awhile.

A project full of character, and one we’re excited to finally share.
