Would you thrift an entire room?

I certainly didn’t plan on it! It started with the vintage Thomasville sofa and tapestry chair (craig’s list!) and then the room just begged for a timeless aesthetic and we rolled with it. Using existing vintage pieces we had previously sourced second hand and thrifting the gaps.

I was initially overwhelmed with what to do with this large space, but over time I believe we have created a warm and elegant lived in look of quiet luxury that is traditional and timeless. And trend free!

All through thrifting. ❤️

Could you get away with less?

I could but I would be sad. I would rather dust than look at empty sterile spaces..

But a kitchen hutch from facebook marketplace filled with vintage dishes and thrift store knickknacks? That’s some maximalist clutter. Or what I call “joy”. 😂

The only thing I ask is “Does this bring me joy?”

I certainly have lots of things, I love to surround myself with treasures that connect me with my past, and present. Many of them are Thrifted, some of them are hand me downs, some of them are heirlooms.

But everything is styled with intention. There was a thought to meaning, items are displayed artfully, not haphazardly. It’s a collected look, not cluttered. It’s a warm and cozy look, not a disorganized one.

And for everything else, I actually enjoy dusting the furniture and knickknacks. ❤️

Sunday Stills.

Life lately. Went to a local estate sale this weekend and brought home some 1950’s decor and vintage garden features. It took three of us to get the concrete bird bath moved.

Bob’s big blue eyes bring me daily joy. Golden Hour in my favorite room of our house, and a little egg maker that I use daily to make spinach, basil and Sun dried tomato omelettes.

Here is to sunshine and and summer days.

I may have a problem. 😂

But seriously, it started growing up a coal miners daughter in West Virginia, wearing second hand clothing and carted around to flea markets with my Maw Maw.

Then as a young mother of two sets of twins, shopping second hand to affordably dress my family and picking up furniture from Craig’s List because it was all we could afford.

And now it’s a full-time hobby. Something I do for fun, because I think all new furniture is junk (seriously, its in a box I have no time to build that piece of cardboard), because I get to chase after the 90s rich stuff I couldn’t afford at the time, and because I enjoy mismatching aesthetics and styles.

My home is a time capsule of my experiences and what I love and 90% of it is thrifted.

Does that sound like you, too? Follow along for more. It is cozy round here! ❤️

I am tired of not being able to tell one home from another.

The beige minimalist aesthetic was never for me.

What you may see as clutter I see as warmth, personality and character.

Nothing matches, everything has meaning, thrift shop finds and heirloom antiques mingle and vibe. Layers of coziness.

Rich because I love my home.

Do you agree? Stick around for more. ❤️

Do homebodies decorate for beauty or comfort?

Or perhaps both?

I absolutely love to surround myself with beautiful timeless things, items that I will enjoy today and tomorrow.

And I find it comforting to be surrounded by items I love that have sentimental meaning.

So I think as a homebody, I have created a cozy home that I never want to leave to enjoy beautiful things within. ❤️
