We’re thrilled to see Lakeside Retreat in the latest issue of Modern Luxury Interiors Mountain Edition.

Overlooking Lake Coeur d’Alene and the golf course at Gozzer Ranch, the home was designed around the way its owners spend their summers: entertaining friends and family, moving easily between indoors and out, and ending the day with a famed martini at the bar. From the vaulted living room to the streamlined kitchen and quiet private spaces, the landscape is never far from view.

A fishing camp in Maine might seem like an unlikely place to source lighting for a home in Jackson Hole, but these vintage brass pendants feel right at home here. Alongside reclaimed chestnut cabinetry and honed black soapstone, they bring another layer of history to this active kitchen.

Together, they’ll explore the relationship between architecture, interiors, and the objects we choose to live with and treasure over time.

Into the hills.

Deep in the woods of Gallatin Canyon, this cabin sits on 680 acres and can only be reached by car for a few months each summer or by snowmobile in winter. Designed to leave as little impact on the surrounding forest as possible, the off-grid home feels as though it has been here for generations.

Built from logs, reclaimed timbers, vintage oak, and Montana moss rock, the cabin pairs the rugged character of the land with furnishings collected from around the world. It’s a home where privacy, craftsmanship, and a deep respect for place define luxury.

This month’s chapter of Peace in the West takes us into the Gallatin National Forest and a cabin that still feels a little like something out of a fairy tale.

Collections are often an integral part of the design process. In this Texas Hill Country home, the owner’s collection ranges from centuries-old Italian tables to a fossilized dinosaur bone, giving us pieces with history and personality to design around.

We are honored to announce Peace Design received the 2026 Philip Trammell Shutze award for Commercial Interior Design - J.W. Heist Steakhouse.

Layered in character oak, bordeaux leather, mohair, black marble, basalt, Western art, bronze sculpture, salvaged 1896 Brunswick backbar, crystal chandeliers that once hung in the Waldorf Astoria, and many curated design details, this Bozeman Montana steakhouse is topped off with warm hospitality and a delicious culinary experience.

This one has always been especially personal to us. We were invested not only in how it looked and felt to diners, but also in how it worked for the culinary team behind the scenes. Every decision had to serve both sides of the experience.

We’re grateful to see J.W. Heist recognized and to everyone who helped bring it to life: our restaurant partners including longtime collaborator Larry Pearson of Pearson Design Group, the craftsmen, artists, galleries, culinary team, and everyone at Peace Design who had a hand in it.

We designed these three bedrooms at Along the Bend around the personalities of the family's grown children. From a quiet floral retreat to a room featuring a leather headboard and mounted longhorn, each space has its own specific identity.
