First Lieutenant Marciano Parisano, a 25-year-old UH-60 Black Hawk pilot from Cibolo, Texas, was found without survival near the Chiquito River in Comayagua, Honduras, while off base on a liberty pass. Investigators reported a physical altercation broke out earlier that night, and he never returned to Soto Cano Air Base afterward.

Assigned to the 1st Battalion, 228th Aviation Regiment under Joint Task Force-Bravo, Parisano graduated from West Point in 2023 and earned his Army Aviation wings before being promoted to First Lieutenant. Honduran National Police, working alongside U.S. Army investigators, have ruled out robbery as a motive and continue pursuing those responsible.

His family described him as a source of compassion, laughter, and unwavering dedication to everyone who knew him, a legacy that endures beyond the uniform he wore with pride.

Savanna Puckett, 22, was found shot to death inside her burning home. Investigators determined that her ex-boyfriend, James Conn, murdered her and set the house on fire. Days before her death, Puckett had called 911 to report that Conn was at her property despite not being welcome there.
Before becoming a patrol deputy in 2020, Puckett began her career as a corrections officer in 2017. Colleagues remembered her as hardworking, compassionate, and deeply dedicated to serving her community.
Her death later inspired "Savanna's Law" in Tennessee, creating the nation's first public domestic violence offender registry, aimed at helping identify repeat domestic violence offenders before situations escalate.

The driver of the truck that struck her was charged with several traffic citations.
Trooper Jones-Story had served with the Illinois State Police for 12 years and was assigned to District 16 in Pecatonica. She is survived by her husband.
The U.S. Route 20 overpass in Freeport was renamed Trooper Brooke Jones-Story Overpass.

Officer Emily Breidenbach had already confirmed an active warrant on the driver and warned of his deteriorating mental state when she called for backup before initiating a high-risk traffic stop on County Highway SS in the Village of Cameron, Wisconsin.
As she and Cameron Police Officer Hunter Scheel ordered the driver out of his vehicle, he stepped out armed with a r***e and opened fire without warning. Breidenbach perished in the exchange, alongside Officer Scheel, who had arrived as her backup just moments earlier.
Investigators later determined both officers acted lawfully in defense of others.
A five-year veteran of her department and her agency's K9 therapy dog handler, Breidenbach was remembered by her community not only for the warrant she enforced that day, but for the years she spent building trust with the children and families she served. Her actions, and Scheel's, were later credited with preventing further harm to the public.

Three Israeli soldiers were killed and three were wounded while fighting Wednesday in the northern Gaza Strip, the military announced amid several days of deadly battles in the area.

The three slain troops were named as Staff Sgt. Matityahu Ya’akov Perel, 22, from Beit El, Staff Sgt. Kanaoo Kasa, 22, from Beit Shemesh, and Staff Sgt. Nevo Fisher, 20, from Bruchin.

They all served with the 401st Armored Brigade’s 46th Battalion.

In the same incident, three other soldiers were wounded, including an officer in serious condition.

According to an initial IDF probe, the troops were hit by a large explosive device that was detonated against a tank during operations in Beit Hanoun.

The incident came after three other troops were killed and several more wounded in separate incidents the previous two days, and brought Israel’s toll in the ground offensive against Hamas in the Strip and in military operations along the border with the enclave to 398. The toll includes a police officer killed in a hostage rescue mission and a Defense Ministry civilian contractor.

During Wednesday’s combat in northern Gaza, the military said an Israeli Air Force attack helicopter carried out a strike against a group of Hamas operatives at a former school in Jabalia.

According to the IDF, the Hamas operatives were at a command center embedded within the Halawa School, and were using the complex to plan and carry out attacks against troops in Gaza and against Israel.

The building had also served as a shelter for displaced Gazans, according to Palestinian media.

Gaza’s Civil Defense reported at least nine people were killed in the strike.

The IDF said it took “numerous steps” to mitigate civilian harm, including by using aerial surveillance and other intelligence.

Meanwhile, a rocket launched from southern Gaza at the Kerem Shalom area was successfully intercepted by air defenses.

The IDF later launched an interceptor missile near the border with Gaza, though the military said it was found to have been fired at a “false” identification.

There were no reports of injuries.
