A little Designer On Call success story ✨

This home recently sold and broke the neighborhood sales record. It’s also the second Violet Marsh project to do so in the past year.

While we never approach a project with resale in mind, I do think there’s something worth paying attention to here. The homes that resonate most are often the ones that feel the most thoughtful... where every decision has been considered, every layer has been refined, and the end result feels cohesive from the architecture to the smallest detail.

If a custom home feels effortlessly cohesive, it’s because a sequential design process did the heavy lifting behind the scenes.

For our Morningside ground-up build, every layout shift, material pairing, and architectural detail was decided in direct relation to the next. True luxury isn’t about making isolated selections; it’s about understanding how a choice made in phase one dictates the beauty of another.

We don’t piece homes together—we build them in alignment, from the ground up.

One of the biggest misconceptions about interior design is that it’s just a series of small decisions.

That couldn’t be further from the truth. In reality, it’s hundreds (sometimes thousands) of decisions—layout, details, materials, scale—all made in relation to one another and built over time.

It can’t be pieced together (or it can, but you won’t get the same result). Every choice impacts the next, and the home only works when everything is considered together, in sequence.

By the time you see the final result, everything has been connected, refined, and brought into alignment. The Morningside project, a ground-up custom home build, is a great example. This home feels (and looks) right because it followed a tried and true design process.

Hello, jewel tones 😍

While this project was just a bedroom, it’s still one of my favorite transformations. The home was already beautifully built, but the bedroom didn’t quite reflect my clients. We started with a dusty pink bed and the softest blue and white rug they already loved, then layered in a deeper palette—rich blues, a pinky-purple moment, and grounding tones like terracotta and brown.

And of course… the dramatic ombré wallpaper. It brought everything together in a way that made the space feel warm, personal, and complete.

What started as a simple refresh of a guest house has grown into something a bit more layered with renovated bathrooms, a new lower-level guest room, and updated furnishings, lighting, and finishes throughout.
