I often wondered why I see some sellers in FB marketplace say not to ask “if available”. I thought it was a perfectly legitimate question until I started getting spam requests on the items I post asking that very question, phrased exactly the same way from different people, for the same item. I found it strange. One day I answered a request and it did indeed turn out to be a scam after I asked a few questions of my own, saving me a lot of grief. In this age of internet fraud you need to be smart and protect yourself. It is for this reason that the majority of my customers are people I know, people that know my people, or people with a digital identity I can trust. My small business is centered on doing something I love and sharing that and not in making money. It’s also why I keep my prices low and don’t sell directly from my website. If you or someone you know would like to purchase an item please allow me time to answer your requests. I would rather turn away a sale than to be scammed and not want to do my crafts at all.
