Well, it seems like just yesterday that we opened the greenhouse, but it has been almost 2 months! I have had many a discussion about how you blink and a month has passed. Sure seems that way to me this spring! We are also planting mums already for fall, and going in a few short weeks to order product for next spring / summer. So, planning for 12 months out and it will be here before I know it!

If you haven't been out in the last day or two. Peonies are budded and starting to bloom. I think there will be a ton of them open in the next couple of days. Giant Dahlia are starting to open, some amazing colors there as well. Still an awesome selection of combo pots, hanging baskets, geraniums, petunias, salvia, tomatoes, peppers, and so much more!

Every year, actually, every day, I am glad that I am an American. Still the greatest country in the world in my humble opinion. With Memorial Day I like to take a minute and remember all of the incredible people who paid the ultimate price so that I can enjoy all the freedoms that I have today! Its a great day when I get to say the Pledge of Allegiance or sing the National Anthem to remember those who fought for my freedom to do so!

The sun is out, its a beautiful day! Kash has been getting work experience through the school and it is pretty cool to listen to her talk about it. What cracks me up, is when both her and True (her brother) talk about their jobs is that there is always 'some old guy' who is teaching them something. Yet, when I meet this person they are inevitably younger than me... I never know whether to be insulted or happy that they don't think I am that old.

What a Beautiful week! Plants are what it is about this week at Warmbiers. Today we start moving perennials outside so it is much easier to shop them. Tomatoes, Salvia, Cuphea, Basil, Rhubarb, Marigolds, Pansies and so many other plants that are just incredible and seem to be on everyone's cart. Looking for the best selection of plants? Then today is the day!

I mentioned last week about Hummingbirds, they are now in or getting very close to our area. I mentioned Salvia and Cuphea above. Those are two plants, along with others, that the hummingbirds LOVE. If you have the plants out with other food, perches, etc you may just convince them to stay. And yes, we do also have feeders, food and perches as well.

As I type this, new silk florals, puzzles, an garden flags have come in the door. Its great to have new items all the time, it would never been possible without each and every one of you. We certainly appreciate the support and love that you keep us hopping!

I was touring a greenhouse or two the other day and someone commented on how they loved the smell. The fresh dirt, the plants, etc and to be honest it smells, or perhaps reminds me, of spring. That smell, the slight humidity, the sound of the fans, it all reminds me that Mother Nature is changing for the better. And, if the old saying is true, these April showers will bring an abundance of May flowers!

Yesterday I had the pleasure of having students from the Bay Arenac Agriculture program out to learn about greenhouses, plants, etc. I had a great time, hopefully they did as well. It is always interesting to see hear the perspective a younger group of adults. I have to say that this group gave me hope and some new outlooks on what I am doing and how I can make things better!
