MONEY SHOT. These pink stairs put my brain in a happy place to every morning. Both staircases in the house were in rough shape - this is one of the few pure DIY projects in my house, in which my brother and I replaced the stair treads and risers, and I put my painting skills to the challenge to achieve the gloss, textured finish to resemble rock candy.

(Part 1) The primary bedroom was perhaps the most satisfying transformation during this project. New flooring and bright white paint illuminated the space, and the master bath was framed in then gut renovated with all new finishes. Flax linen bedding and a wool rug add some color to the space, along with original and limited addition artwork and sculptural pieces.

The living room encompasses nearly the entire main level, and required copious amounts of drywall work, new flooring, and blasting the walls and ceiling in bright white to capture and reflect the indirect CA sunlight to brighten the space. Furnishings are a mix of antiques, vintage, and new pieces combining natural textures and tones. Artwork includes works by , Liliana Ang, and Sandeep Dhopate. I like to describe my kitchen as small but mighty. I’m particularly proud of the impact that cosmetic changes made to the overall space. Apart from the flooring and painting done throughout the house, I removed three disparate backsplashes and under utilized upper cabinetry, using a pearlescent tile to create a new backsplash the extends to the ceiling. The polished rose gold hardware and fixtures along with the white quartz sink help illuminate the space, and the minimalist lighting makes the room feel a bit bigger. This kitchen can be a pain to keep clean, but so so worth it 🙂 Photo by
