Mixing old and new is an art all in itself.
Collecting pieces overtime creates a timeless and lived in look.
And I do want to mention the art of layering color and pattern in here. The rug was the foundational piece for this room, with blue, pink and green. I try to repeat at least three colors and ended up doing four with a pop of the mustard color. With pattern I always have geometric with a floral. The rug does both with the floral and trellis pattern and I love the stripes with the duvet! The gingham chair is a small geometric print and mixed some larger prints with the pillows. And it’s just as important to have pieces with solid color, here I did with the curtains, sheets and end of bed blanket.
And yes, I know I need a shorter harp for the lamps. I’ll get to that eventually!
