Scam Alert!!
Well, it happened. I got scammed for $5,700, and I really didn’t haven’t $5,700 I could lose.
I’m making this post as a massive PSA to any artist, entrepreneur, craftsperson, or business owner so the same thing doesn’t happen to you!
We work so hard on our craft, and we have worked with so many good clients that our guard was down and our trust was up. It’s a shame that scammers come after the little guy who is just trying to make art and tell stories about it.
Moral of the story:
1) really make sure you have authenticated your clients, especially on big projects.
2) don’t pay 3rd parties or vendors that you don’t know are legit.
I know I’ll probably receive some critical comments for not seeing the red flags earlier and avoiding this all together, but if it got me, it could get you, and I just want to do my best to prevent that from happening to other good artists, craftspeople, and small business owners.
