Today’s painting was inspired by the process, and look, of my recent gray fox painting. I’m hoping to do a series of this style. Reducing my palette will hopefully help me move forward.

This is another raven from my own photo. I’ll probably refine the eye a bit more, and definitely the berry.

Will be sealed with Gamblin cold wax when finished.

I burned my transparency bird image.
Washed.
Stained the bottom with tea.
Washed.
Bleached.
Washed.
Added more solution.
Burned a real feather on top.
Washed.
Bleached a portion of the background by the bird.
Washed.
Added more solution.
Burned a bird again!
Final wash.
