A living room with height and volume can feel impressive, but it can also feel disconnected if the design is not handled carefully.
Here, it’s important to think about balance.
The architecture already has a strong presence, so the design does not need to compete with it. Instead, the goal is to ground the room through proportion, texture, furnishings, and architectural details that make the space feel comfortable to actually live in.
In this space, the clean fireplace wall, soft neutral palette, tailored seating, and layered materials allow the volume of the room to remain the focus without making the space feel cold or unfinished.
That is the value of restraint.
A large room does not always need more. Often, it needs the right elements placed with intention so the space feels open, calm, and connected to the way the home lives.
