The best outdoor spaces are the ones people naturally want to stay in a little longer.

For this nationally award-winning outdoor living project, every detail was designed to make gathering feel effortless. Thoughtful seating areas, layered lighting, and a seamless connection to the home all work together to create a space that feels refined, comfortable, and truly lived in.

We were honored to see this project recognized at the NARI National awards, celebrating the level of intention and craftsmanship behind every element.

The before and after is only part of the story.
What happens in between is where the real work lives.
The planning. The conversations. The coordination. The site visits. The decisions that quietly shape everything the camera captures later.
Good design is not a moment. It is a sequence. Every choice sets up the next one. Every builder, every trade partner, every detail on the plan connects.
This is what it looks like when a project is carried all the way through.

A polished bed is never about more. It is about layering with intention.

My formula starts with beautiful foundational bedding and builds from there. Each piece adds softness, structure, or warmth until the proportions feel exactly right.

I think about it in this order:
Crisp base bedding
Euro shams for height
Sleeping pillows that still feel tailored
One lumbar or accent pillow for shape
A coverlet or throw for that final layer of texture

When the proportions are right, the whole room shifts. Softer. More finished. More welcoming.

Get the layers right and the rest takes care of itself.

Save this for the next time you want your bedroom to feel more elevated.

This project started with a piece of art the homeowner already loved. That was the starting point. The color. The mood. The energy. Everything else followed from there.

Saturated green. Graphic pattern. Layered finishes. The kind of combinations that make a small room feel intentional rather than safe.

Powder baths do not have to whisper. This one does not.

Rich in color. Full of movement. Designed to stop you the moment you step inside.

I always love when a smaller room is allowed to be a little bolder. Sometimes those spaces are the perfect place to tell a stronger story.

As the season shifts, attention moves outside again. Mornings on the porch. Longer evenings. A quiet cup of coffee. Time with family. A table set for dinner when the weather finally invites you to linger.

This is often the moment homeowners begin to notice what could feel better. More comfortable. More connected to the home. More useful in everyday life.

Good outdoor design is not about adding furniture or refreshing a few accessories. It is about creating a space that feels intentional and supports the way you want to live this time of year.

Sometimes a change in season is exactly what it takes to see a space clearly again. ✨

Dining spaces still matter. Perhaps more than ever.
A well-designed dining area holds so much more than formal meals. It can be where homework spreads out in the afternoon, where coffee turns into conversation, where friends linger longer than expected, or where a weeknight dinner feels just a little more grounded.
That is why these spaces deserve thoughtful attention.
The scale of the table. The lighting overhead. The way the chairs sit in the room. The relationship to the kitchen and the surrounding spaces. All of it shapes whether a dining area feels inviting, comfortable, and easy to use.
Get those things right, and the room supports connection and daily life in equal measure.

When I think about design, I am rarely thinking only about how a room will look.
I am thinking about how it will feel to walk into it at the end of the day. How the light moves through it. How it supports conversation, rest, routine, and the quieter rhythms of daily life.
I want a home to feel warm, welcoming, and genuinely lived in. That is always the goal.

Accent furniture is often one of the easiest places to start when you want to bring more color into a space.

A few tips I come back to often:
Choose one piece to lead work within the room’s existing palette, focus on tone as much as hue, balance stronger color with quieter finishes around it, and place color where it adds intention and weight
Save this for the next time you want a room to feel more personal and complete.

Often it is the final layer that changes the feeling of a room. Not in a dramatic way. In a quieter one.

The right plant. A beautiful vase. A little softness where the room needs it. A little height, movement, or texture to balance what is already there.

These are the details that help a space feel complete without ever feeling overdone.

Some spaces ask to be simplified before they can feel whole.✨
This bathroom became that exercise: stripping back what didn’t serve, refining what did.
It’s not about grand gestures, but alignment: how light moves through the space, how materials meet, how the room supports real life without demanding attention.
The result is quiet, but complete. 😍
