Raul has been wandering through Mexico in constant search of the hidden and beautiful, in which he doesn’t have to travel far. Each discovery shapes what’s to come at La Embajada and our Embajada Craft collections.
This season, we turn our focus on a remarkable husband-and-wife atelier in Morelia, Michoacán. Their work blends organic, botanical forms with subtle Japanese techniques and molten glass. These pieces are a glimpse into the inspiration of what is to come to La Embajada.

Raúl ha estado recorriendo México en una búsqueda constante de lo oculto y lo bello, sin tener que ir muy lejos. Cada hallazgo da forma a lo que está por venir en La Embajada y en nuestras colecciones Embajada Craft.
Esta temporada, dirigimos nuestra atención a un extraordinario taller de esposo y esposa en Morelia, Michoacán. Su trabajo fusiona formas orgánicas y botánicas con sutiles técnicas japonesas y vidrio fundido. Estas piezas son un adelanto de la inspiración de lo que está por llegar a La Embajada.

Every early Spring, the city of Uruapan in the Mexican state of Michoacán welcomes the finest artisans from all over the state to attend the Tianguis Artesanal de Domingo de Ramos. This festival has over a thousand of the finest Purépecha indigenous artisans that highlight the different handcraft traditions throughout the state and lasts a little over a week. Lots of pieces from this market will be making their way to Austin soon!

Cada inicio de primavera, la ciudad de Uruapan, en el estado mexicano de Michoacán, da la bienvenida a los más destacados artesanos de todo el estado para participar en el Tianguis Artesanal de Domingo de Ramos. Este festival reúne a más de mil de los mejores artesanos indígenas purépechas, quienes destacan las diversas tradiciones artesanales de la región, y se extiende por poco más de una semana. Made from mesquite, our stool for La Embajada will also feature a leather cushion handmade in León. This stool is standard dining chair height, but can also be made in other sizes. Sure to be one of our best-selling pieces, because it was designed with the best vibes.

In Oaxaca, the fourth Friday of Lent brings one of the city’s most beautiful traditions: La Samaritana. Inspired by the biblical encounter between Jesus and the Samaritan woman at the well, the day celebrates generosity and hospitality.
Across the city, homes, churches, schools, and businesses set up colorful stands and offer free aguas frescas to anyone passing by. Clay jars, flowers, and decorative wells transform the streets into a shared table of kindness. Oaxaca becomes a living reminder that the simplest gesture, offering a drink of water, can bring a community together.
We will be serving free aguas frescas on weekends to bring the spirit of La Samaritana to Austin.

En Oaxaca, el cuarto viernes de Cuaresma trae consigo una de las tradiciones más hermosas de la ciudad: La Samaritana. Inspirada en el encuentro bíblico entre Jesús y la mujer samaritana en el pozo, este día celebra la generosidad y la hospitalidad.
Por toda la ciudad, casas, iglesias, escuelas y negocios colocan coloridos puestos y ofrecen aguas frescas gratis a cualquiera que pase. Cántaros de barro, flores y pozos decorativos transforman las calles en una mesa compartida de amabilidad. Oaxaca se convierte en un recordatorio vivo de que el gesto más sencillo, ofrecer un vaso de agua, puede unir a toda una comunidad.
Nosotros estaremos sirviendo aguas frescas gratis los fines de semana para traer el espíritu de La Samaritana a Austin.

A new Embajada Original has just been released. Introducing our Montañas Console Table from Puebla. These newly made pieces are constructed with repurposed wood to give it that heirloom feeling. The Montañas tables are currently made-to-order and customization is available which can include measurements and a variety of pulls should you wish to take a look at our hardware catalogue.
