Painting your home white sounds simple... until you realize there are hundreds of whites to choose from.

The truth is, not all whites are created equal.

The right white can make your home feel timeless, warm, and inviting. The wrong white can leave it looking cold, stark, and more like an office building than a place to call home.

When selecting an exterior white, I look beyond the paint chip. Natural light, roof color, stone, brick, landscaping, and even your home's architectural style all influence how that white will read.

White isn't just white—it’s one of the most important design decisions you'll make.

And remember, white doesn't have to stand alone. Adding natural elements like stone, wood, or even a strategically placed contrast color can help balance the overall design. These mixed materials create depth, add interest, and keep a white exterior from feeling flat or one-dimensional.

Choose wisely, and your home won't just stand out... it'll welcome you home every time you pull into the driveway.

One of my favorite "rooms" to design is an outdoor kitchen. Why? Because it invites you to slow down, step outside, and truly enjoy nature without sacrificing functionality.

The best part? It doesn't have to be a massive outdoor living space to work beautifully.

This design proves that a separate grilling station and a dedicated prep, washing, and storage area can be just as functional—and often more flexible—than one oversized kitchen. Everything has its place, making entertaining effortless while keeping the focus on enjoying the outdoors.

One design tip I always consider: pay attention to the prevailing wind before deciding where your grill goes. You don't want smoke blowing toward your guests or into your seating area. A little planning makes a world of difference.

Small doesn't mean sacrificing beauty or function. Thoughtful design creates spaces that are practical, inviting, and encourage you to spend more time outside.

Sometimes, the best memories are made under the open sky.

Everyone talks about ROI when it comes to remodeling a home. Will it increase the value? Will it pay off when you sell?

But what about the return on joy?

What is it worth to wake up every morning in a space that makes you smile? To cook in a kitchen that inspires you, gather around an island where memories are made, or unwind in a bathroom that feels like your own private retreat?

Your home isn't just an investment for someday—it's where your life happens today.

The right remodel isn't only about increasing your home's value. It's about increasing the quality of your everyday life. It's about creating spaces that function beautifully, reflect who you are, and bring you peace every time you walk through the door.

Some of my favorite projects aren't the ones that start big—they're the ones that grow over time.

Years ago, this client hired me to redesign a single room. Today, we're transforming her entire home. There is no greater compliment than a client who trusts me, my process, and my vision every step of the way.

This dining room makeover all started with one purchase: a freestanding wine fridge.

For most people, it would have simply become another appliance sitting in the dining room. But my client knew that wasn't the feeling she wanted. She wanted every piece of her home to feel intentional.

As the design evolved, she decided the kitchen island no longer fit her lifestyle. Instead of letting a beautiful oversized pendant go to waste, I repurposed it over the dining table and sourced a second to create balance. Beautiful pieces deserve a second life when they can continue telling the story of a home.

We paired it all with stunning backlit Cristallo quartzite and rich oak cabinetry, creating a dining room layered with warmth, texture, and thoughtful detail. Every decision had a purpose, and together they transformed an ordinary space into one that truly draws you in.

Now, entertaining isn't just fun—it's an experience. And that's what great design is all about.

The best thing about turning 52? Loving the life I'm living. ✨

Today isn't just about celebrating another year—it's about celebrating the people, moments, and choices that have brought me here.

I'm grateful for amazing kids who make me proud, the opportunity to do what I love every day for incredible clients, my furry babies who keep life full of love, and friends who make the journey even sweeter.

There is something so special about creating a life you truly enjoy—a life you don't need to escape from or take a vacation from to appreciate.

52 feels like a beautiful reminder that the best chapters aren't behind you. They're the ones you're creating right now.

They're carefully curated and thoughtfully planned, with every detail working together—from scale and proportion to materials, lighting, texture, and dimension. It's the experience and expertise behind the design that transforms a collection of finishes into a feeling.

Anyone can choose white cabinets and quartz countertops. Great design goes beyond the expected. It tells a story, evokes emotion, and creates a space that feels uniquely yours.

Don't design for average.
