Redesigned this North Austin Clubhouse/Lounge area - we love making some of the existing items work in the new space by giving them a little love (and styling). For example, this coffee table was really beautiful but very stark while needing a new seating configuration for the residents.
Adding some warm tones with the rich velvet olive green sofa and smart pinstriped side chairs gave the room an elevated aesthetic.
Owners also loved the cool accent chairs (form and size) but not the teal blue, so we had them recovered in a neutral linen fabric - voila! Another trick was painting the interior of a tired fireplace black to keep it looking clean. It makes sense to retain a few pieces work where we can to keep from overspending for our clients! Love being part of these transformations!

Here's what no one tells you about....

Curtains can elevate a room—or quietly work against it.

One of the most common design mistakes is hanging the curtain rod directly above the window and allowing the panels to stop short of the floor. This can make the window—and the entire room—feel smaller.

The designer approach:

Hang the rod several inches above the window frame, or closer to the ceiling when the proportions allow.

For a polished finish, curtains should lightly “kiss” the floor or hover no more than half an inch above it. Avoid panels that end several inches too short—they can make even a beautifully designed space feel unfinished.

The right placement creates the illusion of taller ceilings, wider windows, and a more graceful, intentional room.

Luxury is often found in the details—and proper curtain length is one detail that changes everything.

We love starting a project with a blank slate!! This client had a single entry table and we needed to make it really stand out. From one piece to Design Board to final outcome. Client made this arrangement to pull out all the colors in the new wallpaper installed. Gorgeous! Love when a plan turns into reality!!

We love a great Before & After photo shoot! This short term rental needed a facelift but needed to stay within the budget to prioritize the spaces of where best to spend the funds. Lightening up the spaces with new drapery in a neutral tone, adding accessories and bringing in new updated furniture pieces in made an immense impact. More photos on this fun project coming soon!!

We just completed a staging in Lakeway Texas... it turned out gorgeous and was under contract in 24 hours!! I don't do staging on a regular basis but have a great friend who is a realtor that I help out when she needs my services. It's not that I don't like staging a home to sell and get top dollar and a quick sale, but it is the de-staging process that is not fun, so I typically stick with design where I put it together, take photos and let the client enjoy the results. But we do things we love for people who appreciate the value of what we do. The BEST part of it all is helping the homeowners get on with their next move in life; this couple is moving to California to be closer to family and I couldn't be more thrilled to help be a part of their transition.... Helping others is what fills my bucket and keeps me on this wonderful design adventure!
