La dolce vita, at home. Sun-warmed lemons on the back porch, long afternoons that stretch into golden evenings, and a table set in the sun. We designed these outdoor spaces to capture everyone’s idea of summertime, a little slice of Tuscany without the passport.

You don’t start with the art. You start with the feeling that the room can hold it. This piece by Andrea Bowers, made entirely from cardboard, has a presence that shifts the space in a meaningful way.

In a house that carries a lot of structure and discipline, moments like this matter. They remind you that it’s lived in, not just designed. And those are often the pieces people end up remembering.

Not long after this one came in, the Museum of Modern Art featured her work.

Every watercolor arrives at a different moment, depending on the client, the space, and what's being explored. It isn't a step in the process so much as part of how a project develops, drawing slowly and creating space for new ideas to emerge.

What moves from hand to page carries something that can't be replicated. A human quality, and a little bit of magic.

Nothing here comes from the same moment. Older pieces with weight and history sit alongside quieter, more current forms. The contrast isn’t forced, it’s what gives the room its clarity.

A summer afternoon that stretches a little longer than expected. Citrus on the counter, something chilled in hand, doors open, and nowhere to be. You move in and out of the kitchen without thinking. A quick pour, a slice of fruit, a moment at the table before drifting back outside.

It’s easy, a little unstructured, and exactly how the day is meant to unfold. These are the rhythms we think about when designing a space. Not just how it functions, but how it holds you. Where you naturally gather, where things are within reach, where it feels easy to stay a little longer.

Some homes are about where you are. Others are about how they make you feel over time. This one, set along the Gulf, was always meant to feel like it had been here longer than it has. Not in a literal sense, but in the way it settles in. A place that feels familiar, even on the first visit.

Porches that catch the breeze and frame long views of the water, and materials that feel like they’ve softened with age. It’s less about creating a specific memory, and more about creating the feeling that one already exists.

We’ve worked side by side long enough to know that our differences are what make the work better. Our perspectives don’t compete, they complement, creating a balance that leads to stronger, more thoughtful design.

At the center of it all is something simple. We genuinely enjoy spending time together, which makes the work feel easy and makes going home just as good.

A Friday night, spent close to home. A few bottles open, something simple on the table, and time set aside to catch up with people you don’t see enough. A piece by Luis Jiménez on the wall, adding its own presence to the room. It’s these moments that shape what we design for.

Before any of the projects, there was this. The years that shape a family are built slowly, in ordinary moments that somehow become the ones you remember most. School pickups, Halloween costumes, long trips together, celebrations that seemed small at the time, and seasons of life that moved faster than you realized while you were in them.

Home has always meant more to us than the rooms themselves. It’s the life unfolding inside them, and the people you’re lucky enough to share it with. Happy Mother’s Day, Autumn. The heart behind so much of what we do.
