Fly fishing on a whole ‘nother level!🎣

One of the best Alaskan adventures we shared was fly fishing with Alaska Fishing & Raft Advntrs outside of Fairbanks, Alaska.

When fly fishing in the past in other destinations, we both spent the whole day casting and only walked away one fish total.

On the Fairbanks Delta Clearwater River we truly lost count of the Trophy size Arctic Grayling that we caught. The water was crystal clear and the fish biting all day was so exhilarating.

Beyond the fishing, we loved the fresh Alaskan air in our face as we cruised in their custom made jet boat that was able to get us to the most remote parts of the gorgeous river. The boat ride was an adventure in itself!

There’s truly nothing cooler (literally) than sipping on an appletini 🍏 in a hand carved ice glass while admiring world class art made out of ice.

It’s both 🔥 Hot & Cold 🧊 at the famous Chena Hot Springs Resort resort right outside of Fairbanks, Alaska.

No matter your temperature preference, a visit to Chena is crucial when planning your Explore Fairbanks itinerary.

The Aurora Ice Museum was an instaworthy, bucket list activity that we had to hit when coming to Fairbanks. This spot totally lives up to the hype.

We also loved that we could instantly warm up in their healing natural hot springs while soaking in the endless Alaskan nature. 🧖‍♀️

You can’t get any more fresh than that! 🦀

We always thought the only way to get crab was risking your life just like the guys on the Deadliest Catch reality television show. 

Turns out we were completely wrong, and going crabbing for Dungeness crab is one of the most local experiences you could possibly do in Juneau.

If you’re a crab lover like us then you have to book a flight to Juneau ASAP to take this special new IntoAlaska Hot Tub Boat and GoBoat Rental crabbing and foodie experience.

An absolute pinch me moment. 💕🐾
Your Travel Juneau bucket list isn’t complete without a Coastal Helicopters Inc. 🚁 adventure.
Start by boarding their famous yellow helicopters and fly above the magical natural scenes of Juneau, Alaska.
The crazy part is that this dream trip is just getting started as you land on top of a glacier at a dog sledding base camp.
Feel the snow fly below your feet as a whole crew of powerful sled dogs glide you across an Alaskan glacier.
Then to finish it off, cuddle and pet all the good pups before you take off for another jaw dropping helicopter ride back to town.
The dogs and the mushers live on top of the glacier for the summer for this excursion, and yes, the dogs even take helicopters to get there!

It’s peak grill season and our lemongrass beef skewers are so easy to marinade and make!

We love that grilling doesn’t have to feel hot and heavy with the summer heat. Simply just marinade Omaha Steaks top sirloin filets 🥩 with our lemongrass marinade recipe.

~ 4 Omaha Steaks Top Sirloin Filets butterflied, sliced and skewered
~ 3 Tablespoons sugar
~ 1 tablespoon finely chopped lemongrass
~ 1 tablespoon minced shallot
~ 1 Tablespoon finely grated fresh ginger
~ 1 Tablespoon soy sauce
~ 2 teaspoons fish sauce
~ 2 teaspoons lime juice
~ 1 tablespoon of oil
~ 1 ½ teaspoons chili garlic sauce
~ 2 cloves garlic, minced
~ 1 teaspoon kosher salt
~ Chopped salted peanuts and herbs,for garnish

A glimpse of the world class dining on Princess Cruises Diamond Princess 🍽️.

There are 13 restaurants and 12 bars and lounges board. Here are some of our favorite bites that you can’t miss on the ship:

🍣 - Omakase sushi from Makoto Ocean where they had perfectly marbled toro tuna. Be sure to also order the miso salmon at lunch!

🦞 - Lobster, lamb, and wine pairings at the Crown Grill. The cheese bread at the start of the meal was a game changer!

🍝 - Homemade pasta with truffles, chicken parm poured from a bubbling skillet, and mind blowing burrata with aged prosciutto.

🥂 - A romantic 5 course balcony dinner to send us off on the highest note on the final night from our room.

Circle around Japan with us on 🛳️ 🇯🇵
Here are some highlights of the sights we saw at each Princess Cruises port:

Tokyo: Teamlabs borderless, sumo wrestling, Tsukiji market, Japanese onsen spas, Yohahama Chinatown, and all the sushi, ramen, wagyu, and katsu!

Nagasaki: Sofukuji Sanmon Temple, traditional shippoku meal, Atomic Bomb Museum, and Peace Park.

Busan: Haedongyonggungsa Temple, Korean BBQ, Beach train, Korean skincare shopping and Gamcheon Culture village.

Sakaiminato: Mihonoseki lighthouse Miho shrine, sushi making, and sake tasting.

Tsuruga: Kehi-jingu Shrine, Kombu making and tasting, and vintage kimono shopping.

Toyama: Day trip to Kanazawa for the Higashi Chaya District, Omicho market, Nagamachi Samurai District and Kenroku-en garden.

Akita: Matcha tea experience with a Maiko, miso and soy sauce factory tour, authentic udon and tempura lunch.

These ports introduced us to a side of Japan that was off the beaten path and way less touristy and also allowed time to play in Tokyo before and after the cruise.
