I spent so many hours carefully cutting, matching, and laying out these pirate blocks for a special little guy in my life. I thought the blues and lilacs would look so sweet together.
​But someone close to me just saw it on the table and said the colors "clash too much" and that "purple doesn't belong on a boy's pirate quilt." 😔
​Now I’m sitting here completely doubting myself and feeling so discouraged. Is it really that bad? Should I just rip it apart and change the purple blocks to something else, or keep going?
​Please be honest in the comments... I really need some advice right now. 👇😭

I saved scraps for over a year because I wanted this to be a bright, happy explosion of color. But holding it up outside, it just looks chaotic and kind of dizzying to me. My cousin laughed and said it “hurts to look at” because there’s no place for your eyes to rest. That stung more than I expected after all those hours at the machine. Maybe using *every* scrap wasn’t the best idea?

I stayed up so many late nights stitching this quilt, piece by piece. I changed the colors, created new patterns, and poured my heart into every single square.
But when I finally showed it to you, you barely glanced at it and said, “It’s okay.” Then you went back to whatever you were doing.
Now this colorful quilt lies folded in the corner of the room, untouched.
Sometimes I wonder if my love is just like this quilt — made with so much care, yet no one really notices it.

The Hemingway Pouch is one of those projects that looks super impressive and complicated, but actually comes together so fast. After the quilting is done, there are only six (6!!) seams!
