We will be teaching at the Fall Midwest Ceramic Show in Hamilton Ohio September 15 & 16. Our theme is a Carousel Christmas and most of the classes are Christmas themed. However, our very first class is Old Men Playing Checkers (perhaps the game was a Christmas gift LOL). Learn to paint and shade a variety of different skin tones (Caucasian and African American) and enhance your figures by adding patterns to their clothing. Featured scene is Old Men Playing Checkers. 2. shipping cost and times are only an estimate. If you have an event date, please let us know when ordering.
3. prices have been adjusted to reflect increases in costs
4. prices have been standardized so that similar items cost the same
5. a SUMMER SALE is in effect from May 15th to June 15th to help offset the increase in costs. All orders over $25 will receive a 15% discount.

ANNOUNCEMENT
Our Etsy Store is coming off vacation on May 15th. We have been busy demonstrating at the Midwest Ceramic Show, hosting a Fashenhues Certification Training, and catching up on orders.
To celebrate our Re-Opening we are offering a 2022 SUMMER SALE from May 15th to June 15th. All orders over $25.00 from the Etsy store placed during that time frame will automatically receive a 15% discount. Please share with your friends.

We have temporarily closed both of our Etsy stores to allow us time to catch up on orders. They will reopen May 15th/ I have reintroduced the watermelon kids that Etsy banned using a different name. We are in the process of painting samples of all six Vanessa and William figurines.

The African-American Collection

We have decided to add a special store to our Carousel Creations business that caters especially to the African-American community. We have acquired over a hundred molds, most of which are African-American children. However, we do have a few adults including a church choir and a jazz band. Pictures posted are catalog pictures until we are able to get all of our samples made and photographed.

We sell both bisque and finished pieces which can be shipped to you. We are opening an Etsy store Called “AfricanAmericanKids”.

Classes on painting various skin tones are available in our studio for groups of interested painters OR we have a Party Van and can bring the classes to you. You can also attend any of our Open Workshops to work on these pieces. We have a special brochure called Faces of the World produced by Duncan (now discontinued). It shows five cool-tone faces and five warm-tone faces, giving the base coat, shading, highlighting, and blush for each. You can choose the skin-tone that best matches your family and we will help you paint the faces.

In addition to the molded figures, we can trace original or clipart designs onto plain pieces, such as cups, bowls, plates, teapots, vases. canisters, and so on. We also have some African masks and silkscreens of African animals. Our collection is just beginning and we will add other pieces if there is any interest. If you don’t see what you want, just ask and maybe we can find it for you.
