After years of running the Kerri-Lee Mayland Company and doing design projects big and small, in every style, all over the country and abroad, for every budget high and low, I found myself ready for exciting new challenges.

Then along came an opportunity at a design firm, well known for nearly 60 years for creating stunning, stately spaces under the leadership of renowned Principal Designer Peter Robbin.

I jumped!

The studio is getting a bit of a REFRESH (😉) so once it’s ready you are invited to come stop by! We are having events and meet and greets and some surprises you might just really like.

I’m still the same Kerri-Lee, just surrounded by some new digs, so please feel free to give me a ring or drop me a line and we can figure out your next project.

“Colorado in Connecticut” is the vibe of this new basement!
It’s a complete renovation, down to the studs and now we are building it back up with everything you could possibly want! There is a playroom that doubles as an extra bedroom thanks to a Murphy bed cabinet, an under the stairs wine cellar, working fireplace in a lodge/lounge setting with floor to ceiling wood storage, a kitchenette with floating shelves to match the wood accents throughout, a full bathroom, black window panes, library bar with rolling ladder, brass honeycomb sconces, blue shiplap fireplace with rustic wood mantle, and a vibrant red rug to go under the well-worn tufted Chesterfield. There’s also a pub area featuring over-sized framed vintage German beer ads. It’s a fun space for a fun couple!

Lots more details and pictures to come but we are getting super excited as it starts to pull together.

What to do with the coffee table… 🤔

Some prefer it completely clean and bare, while others use it as a styling moment for a vignette featuring favorite things. There is no right or wrong, it just has to work for you and make you relaxed and happy when you see it. Best of all, it’s so easy to change up!

This time of year something fresh and green always makes me happy, and with friends and family popping by it’s nice to set out some cards and games.

Functional can be fun too 🥰

We have been working with our wonderful Wolcott client for a couple of months now, helping her pull her beautiful custom home together. The views from the patio overlook a picturesque farm and between the horses grazing and the family of wild turkeys passing through— it’s an active and beautiful backyard!

Here are just a couple of peeks at some of the spaces we have been working on— from creating a little reading nook 📚 in her bedroom, to softening her living room with textiles and completely changing the floor plan, even doing her Christmas tree for her!

It’s not hard to make this light-filled home beautiful and best of all, we get to visit with her sweet dogs who can’t wait to show off their latest toy every time we are there ❤️

A week in California turned this Victorian home into a much more stylish, organized and functional version of itself for one of our favorite repeat clients!

We have done a lot of homes for within his booming vacation rental home portfolio “Lord and Patrick” and this historic Oakland charmer was no exception.

Getting it ready to host guests from all over the world while still showcasing elements of the area as the goal and it’s now up and running and ready for your next visit to the Bay Area.

Adding some old with the new, incorporating carefully curated thrifted finds and equipping it with all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay was the plan. Now it’s ready for you to make yours 🧳 ✈️

Well, no worries! It’s an easy fix and well worth doing. You’ll be sooooo glad you did!

How about some peel and stick palms and a pair of fruity candelabras for a Florida entry way!

To quote a guest that stayed there recently, “they are so tacky they are PERFECT!” Ha!

The concept was inspired by an airbnb our client stayed in, and I just knew we needed to replicate them in our own way.

I found the candelabras pretty easily, then a quick online search turned up the faux fruit, and with a little they all came together.

See something in your travels? Go home and DIY a version of your own! You’ll love it every time you look at it, and smile at the story that brought you to it in the first place.

We can finally start using our backyards— at least in between the flooding and 90 degree days 😆

It’s been a heck of a crazy summer but the most glorious season of all in New England is almost upon us!

This little lantern lit breezeway is a little glimpse at a project we did earlier this summer, and I can’t wait to hear how all our clients are enjoying their new outdoor “rooms!”

Basements don’t have to feel “basementy!”

Layers of textiles for coziness, adding height with drapes around a small basement window, lots of lighting that can cast a moody vibe or be light and bright, comfy furniture you want to flop in, and some fun pops of color for cheeriness 🔆

This was such a fun space to do because it came so far from where it began. Does your basement need a REFRESH?

It can take just one piece to inspire an entire design, and this oversized painting was IT for this room!

Of course it has a great back story for our clients, and it was a must to integrate it into the new space.

So here it is, the star of the show with a brand new supporting cast of furniture and accessories. Safe to say this living room is ready for opening night 💫 😉
