🎉 Celebrating 20 Years of Coates Design!

For two decades, Coates Design has been about doing the right thing, taking the long-term view, and designing spaces that positively impact the environment, the economy, and the communities we call home.

From pioneering sustainable homes and designing beloved community spaces like the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art, to pro bono projects right here on Bainbridge Island, these past 20 years have been filled with meaningful projects, lasting relationships, lessons learned, and plenty to be grateful for.

We’re honored to have our story featured in PNW Bainbridge’s “Building a Legacy Beyond Blueprints,” reflecting on where Coates Design began, the people and projects that have shaped us, and what we hope to carry into the next 20 years.

Thank you to our clients, collaborators, friends, family, and community who have been part of the journey. Here’s to 20 years — and to everything still ahead. 🥂

A first look at some renders for one of our recent residential projects! This home will serve as the main house to our previously completed Evergreen Escape project, bringing the next chapter of this beautiful property to life.

Set on a generous site, this project has been a long time in the making, design began before COVID, and we’re excited to see the vision continue to take shape. Designed for a young professional couple creating their dream home, the residence takes full advantage of the surrounding landscape, space, and connection to the existing Evergreen Escape.

We can’t wait to share more as this project progresses!
