I got to try out my new Rob Wayman Knives hand forged knife today and I love it! If for whatever reason you don’t quite like my knives or my style of knives maybe you’d love one of his. Y’all check him out on fb and instagram. He sets the knife making bar very high.

This one took some time yall, not a ton of layers but still complicated and time consuming. I started with 16 layers of 5/32” thick 15N20 and 1084 high carbon steel alternating in stack up order. Forged that out into a big long bar, then cut it into 3 pieces. Cleaned them all up and then stacked a layer of pure nickel on each side of the core Damascus and then the other two pieces of Damascus on the outside of the nickel to make a Damascus GoMai billet of steel. I forged that out to this 12” blade for large meat cutting purposes. This is a hidden tang handle with stainless steel guard followed by black g10, black carbon fiber, walnut dymalux, and capped off with some Turkish walnut. I hope it provides its new owner a lifetime of service, and is passed down to the next generation.

For all my kitchen knife owners who want a quick easy way to touch up your knifes edge from the minor wear of everyday tasks. Get the ceramc one. It helps guide you to the right angle to hold the knife. And if your knife ever needs to be professionally resharpened, just call me and let’s work out a way to get it back to me to fix.
