We have a new retirement adventure! Mark and I have opened a booth at Blackboard Barber & Vintage located at 1901 Chester Ave., at the corner of 19th & Chester, in downtown Bakersfield, CA.
Some history: when I met Mark 25 years ago, he had a booth down at the old Woolworths Five & Dime. One of our favorite things to do together has always been wandering through vintage and antique stores.
We discovered a gentleman down at Blackboard Vintage that needed to sell out of his booth for health reasons and we bought his stock to start us off.
Some more history: our son and grandson both like vintage and picking. Since he was young we have taken our grandson Deegan with us shopping. He covered a lot of ground fast in those shops, and so I always gave him a task: if you find any kangaroo, you must bring it to me. There will be No Kangaroo Left Behind! 🚫 🦘
Thus the name of our new venture! I hope you’ll come down and visit us. Our booth is located on the west wall when you enter from 19th Street.
