Update: Lily and I finished a second wall and got a board installed to add tool hangers.

I have a new helper here at Fallen Oak Farm and what a blessing!!

In the soon-to-be tool shed we filled in two more stud sections AND put up pegboard on the back wall for holding the smaller gardening tools.

Healthy way to stretch chicken feed budget.

Sprouted Lentils
(Descriptions with each photo.)

You can use any size container, just be sure you will be able to rinse and drain the lentils without jarring the delicate sprouts.

The one quart jar is perfect for 4-5 chickens.

You might also consider starting a fresh jar of lentils every 2-3 days for a continuous supply of a healthy treat.

I mix my sprouts with other ingredients for added health benefits.

* Egg shells, crushed
* Parsley, dried
* Basil, dried
* Oregano, dried

1) 11 month extract, 4oz for a $10.00 donation [4 remaining]

2) 9 month extract, 4oz for a $10.00 donation [5 remaining]

2025 - December 30th

🤎Homemade Vanilla Extract🤎

25 oz - Five O'clock Vodka 80 proof
4oz - Madagascar vanilla beans
1 quart canning jar with lid

Split vanilla beans lengthwise and place in canning jar.
Fill jar with vodka, enough to completely cover beans.
Seal jar; shake gently.
Place jar in a darkened cupboard or pantry.
Shake the jar about once a month.
Extract should be ready at the 6 month mark. Ideally, allow to steep for 12 months for best flavor.

After steeping period, remove beans and allow to dry.
These can now be placed in a jar of granulated sugar to make a vanilla flavored sugar.
